DDR Metal Pad Question

Hey, sup guys..I'm new to the forum
Registered today and said couldn't post for like a day, so I spent a lot of my time reading stickies and other stuff.

Most amusing was how many people in a crowd ya'll can get.

Back on topic!

I played DDR on Softpad a LOONG time ago..and well..hated it.
Played SM/FFR with keyboard for fun..got really good at that so I can read arrows pretty quickly
and as for hard pads..I play at the arcade when ever I can..which was like 10 times total

Soo after my mall being over run by the "DDR Gang" or whatever you would like to call them, they keep hogging the machine and being complete assholes! I've decided to buy my own metal pad and play home, but question is!

What metal pad should I buy? I'm a complete noob at whats considered a good pad


The pad not loud when playing on it would be a plus! (Consider it would be on carpet)

The pad lasting more than a year w/o problems starting to happen is also a plus!
