Hey I just got a pad about a month and a half ago. I got the Energy Super Deluxe pad: http://www.ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-ddrgame-energy-dance-pad-m03855.html on ebay for $55 shipped. I love it to death, but being a total noob it was great, but now I am playing on standard levels and soon heavy. I am progressing rather quickly and I want to get a metal pad with some money I'll get from christmas. What would you recommend in the $200 ish range? From reading the forum a bit it looks like the Nexas is a good bet in my pricerange. I also saw this pad:http://www.ddrgame.com/dance-dance-revolution-ion-metal-gc.html on ebay for around $200. What do you think about that one?

So what'll it be? I have a few months to think about it, but I can't wait! I am already so addicted to DDR. Oh by the way, I am using Stepmania on my PC with about a zillion songs. So I'd need something for PC or something that can use an adapter.

As Cavy said, feel free to check out my DT600! If you play on carpets though, get the Deluxe model; it's thicker and heavier. E13.gif

Remember that DTG products are currently all made based on request. Every pad is personal but professional, stylish yet durable, and best of all, we take pride in being able to say that we're a progressive, humanised company dedicated to community and service. None of us are businessmen, and none of our builders are machines. I'm the founder of this newborn company, and our employees are all friends with a dedication to bringing DDR and other rhythm games into communuties.
Schools and other public organisations recieve a maximum discount from us, and we're not out to fluxuate from red to green and everywhere in between; we cling to the black, this means that company profit goes to things like getting chips manufactured directly for us, instead of ripping them from softpads, and developing new designs and games.

We should have a website running soon, there'll be a major update when we do.

Well, if you want one for Christmas you should probably go with a Nexen. It's the only decent metal pad that you can get for your price range. This pad should last you a long time and you can play on it with shoes, or with socks unlike most other metal pads and their screws.

I wouldn't go for anything on any of those DDR pad dealer sites or on eBay. Those pads are all horribly cheap. For your price range, I would say that the Nexen is your best bet. Make sure you don't get an afterburner, by the way.
