I really hate making this thread here, but there really isn't any other place I can post this without breaking the rules, so I thought I would put this here to keep down on the useless clutter.

Anyways, here it goes: I want to start playing SM again, however my old dance pad (Old redoctane) is starting to lose its sensing capabilities, so I really need a new pad.
I heard that the latest, well, all redoctanes are pretty bad for having their sensors move around. So what are some good soft-pad alternatives? What about a place to buy them?
It'd be nice to have a USB pad, but a PS pad wouldn't be too bad since I have a converter.

i've been using my mario mix pad with a superjoybox 13 (gcn -> usb convertor) for months and it's worked beautifully. i don't know if you can get it without buying mario mix with it though...

Thanks for the help. Does anyone have experience with these pads or the seller selling them?

Also, is it worth it to spend $20 more for a thicker pad?

True but the problem with them, when using SM, is pretty much, you try and do a double step (ex, left and right together), it doesn't really work, well not for me anyways. So I say, get a metal one, may cost a lot but heck of a lot more durable. And lasts longer, too.

The best metal pads have to be from Cobaltflux. Those guys have excellent ratings on their DDR metal pads. And it works perfectly with SM.

cant say I give Cobalt flux good ratings. Everyone that I know that had one, including myself, they didn't work with SM worth a crap, even with the correct adapter. They lagged, the sensors only worked in the middle.

Go for a mymybox blueshark, www.mymybox.com

You /will not/ be disappointed, like I was with every CF I ever played on.
