I wasnt sure which forum to put this in but since it's a stepmania problem I'll put it here. When I'm playing tough songs on stepmania, occasionally my computer tower itself (not the speakers) will make a beep and the keyboard will stop registering any keys pushed during this beep. It usually occurs when I try to press 3 keys at once. Is there a way to stop this?

I had this problem myself on my old computer. My keyboard absolutely wouldn't register when 3 or more arrow keys were pressed, which made some ITG songs frustrating. The solution? Hard to say. Problem is the way keyboards are designed. The one I'm using right now, for instance, a Microsoft Media keyboard, allows me to press all the arrow keys at once, but otherwise, it's divided into weird sections where I can't press any more than three keys in the same section at once. Are all keyboards like this? I don't know. What'd I'd recommend is download KeyScan from that link there and just see what keys you can press simultaneously. You might be able to use WASD as a quick fix, for example. I ultimately solved the problem by buying a new keyboard, which isn't the best solution because it could be hit or miss. If you do go that route, get a Logitech or Microsoft keyboard. Those worked fine with Stepmania in my experience.

For my Dell keyboard, I have to hit hands (3 or more simultaneous arrows) about 1/4 of a second early. It might be able to register them, but it'd be a bit late like mine.

My cousin's keyboard is like that, too.

Super Katamario, you can see which arrows you can press simultaneously by going to "Test Input".
