|
|
Hello, fellow DDR Enthusiasts? I I think I've used up every word by now. I have a question for you people. I think this will be my final decision on the future of my houses arcade experiences. So the question will be written below:
Which Home-Brew Metal Platform Design feels the most like the arcade? Which one resembles the arcade platform in look and design? Will it give me the same technical power that the arcade platform provides?
OR
Should I drop this all and wait to get MyMyBox's BlueShark GXG 3rd Edition with the rumored ITG Bar?
Thanks...

If you don't care about the money, I'd probably take a look at the Blueshark thread and see if it's really what you're looking for. It's supposed to use the same kind of sensor as the arcades (I have no idea of the quality of these sensors), but it's probably the closest you'll get just because of the sensors.
If you're looking save yourself a chunk of change, then building a homepad is the way to go. _________________

Blueshark? I thought they were going to install the ITG style bar onto the new 3" Nexen pad that they were making. |

I e-mailed them and they said that they will do it for the 3" Nexen, but if their fan-base wants it enough they will release it for teh BlueShark. It won't come with teh BlueShark itself, but will sort of act like a "replacement" bar. You buy it seperatley and install it yourself. _________________

Installing it yourself?
Damn I was getting excited because I thought that it was going to be the official arcade bar thickness which it can't be because the Blueshark's default bar isn't that thick and the bar wouldn't fit in. |

Well, you'd be welcome to use my arcade-clone design when I finish it, but I'll warn you now: it's not designed to be cheap (it'd run ya about, it's designed to be good.
If you want a cheaper pad (around the $200-$250 range if you just make one, but only about $300-$400 for doubles) that's very close to the arcade and actually something that can be moved without a forklift, I've got another design you can use that's not quite the arcade, but it's the closest you'll come for less than $300 per pad.
You could knock another $40-$90 off that price by making your own sensors. _________________

Wow, I'm actually interested in this. Are you done with these designs? I don't really worry about the money, I'm looking for something like you described. Please do inform me more about them! Even through PM if you'd like. _________________
