Beatmania US 2?

Is there any speculation about Konami releasing another Beatmania mix for the US Playstation 2? Not sure if BM has sold enough as is to warrant one, sadly.

I kind of doubt it considering that the first one didn't sell very well. Hopefully if Konami did release a second Beatmania the songlist would be a lot better as the first one's sucked.

I find it hillarious how this "beatmania didn't sell well" is brought up all the time.

Well, I work at an EBGames and we sold a pretty solid amount of copies of it (I pushed for some pre-orders on it and got about 5 including myself) and ended up selling ten total, we still have some left over but I would say ten is an extremely good number for how obscure the game is and the lack of any sort of marketing of it.

I really hope they come out with another, since my Swap Magic discs are scratched beyond repair and I don't have a credit card to order new ones with... but it seems doubtful.

i really wish they do too, but i'm pretty doubtful. unless konami can get off their butts to produce a decent iidx product for the us market (or any non-japanese market for that matter), it's probably not going to come.

i wonder what those folks at konami were thinking...they HAD all the songs and charts available, but they only decided to make a few new ones and slap on some old ones. bmus could have been such a great success...sighh

ahh well..i still enjoy my bmus since i can't import.

While I wish so too (I modded my PS2, so YAY for imports), I'm not sure they will. The ONLY way I see them bringing another BM to US is to do what they did for 7th Style.......a petition to see if enough people want another one. & what they need to do:

- Put THE best songs you've got!

- Use the RED interface. Believe me, it WAYYYYY better then what you did for US.

- More songs & unlocks. Just like the 1st DDR, you only had around 50 songs & no unlocks.

I hope they come out with another one as well. I plan on getting the first one for Christmas, but I never plan on modding my PS2 or buying import games, so if they don't make others, BMUS will be the only BM game I get to play.

I know I remember LOKI from OLR said BMUS was considered a success on a podcast a few months ago...
