So, I just started playing itg this weekend (transfering from ddr) and im having trouble passing most 9s on expert (the only one i passed was Da Roots). 9s on hard i can do. What do you guys think are the easiest expert level songs so i can work on them on my next trip to the arcads. E1.gif

Oh, hands and mines are a factor for me since im not used to them yet

First, the framerate on ITG is better than it is on DDR, so don't be afraid to play on higher speeds than you would on DDR. This will make things much easier for you in the long run. Cel is also good to use, too.

For practice on hand plants, I would try Bend Your Mind on Hard, Zodiac on Expert (not a lot of hands, but good for practice), and finally Queen of Light Expert. Get those down and hands shouldn't bother you.

For practice with mines, I'd start with Vertex on Hard, then Lemmings on the Run Expert, and finally Charlene Expert (which is many people's first 11).

Good luck. I'm sure you'll get there before too long.

Practice is not the answer to everything. There are many parts of the game that you should ask for advice.

For 9s, hold the two yellow buttons and press the green button, and you will go to an option menu. Go to Expert Meter or whatever. Then go to 9s. They will be sorted by the number of steps they have. Just skip Lipstick Kiss and play from the top down.

Birdie, Little Kitty Mine, and This Is Rock & Roll are pretty easy 9s. Start with those, then work your way up to songs like Amore, My Life Is So Crazy, and Incognito. If you want to practice with mines, do Disconnected Mobius. For hands, play Spaceman. For rolls, play Renaissance.

Practice is not the answer to everything.

I agree for the reasons you have, AND because pratice alone is not the only component. strategy is part of practicing. Give people strategies to practicing themore advanced steps and that will help them more than just saying "just practive! Practice! OMG why does people ask this just practice!"

I could pass this before I could pass any Expert 9. (Except for Da Roots.)
Seriously, Queen of Light shouldn't be a 10. Probably a difficult 9.

If Queen of Light is a 9, then Bend Your Mind is a 7.

I think that Queen of Light should stay a 10 because a lot of inexperienced players are not proficient at hands yet. It's still a challenging song as well.

Yeah but once you get hands down you'll be able to pass Queen of Light no problem. Definately the easiest 10 in ITG.

You do realize the op asked for songs to try, not technique to use.

No Princess, Da Roots (you can already pass this), Birdie, Why me...all at the low end of expert difficulty. These songs probably have the most straightforward rhythms.

But you should really try other songs with weird rhythms too. Like Lipstick Kiss, Amore, and what have you.
