Well I spent quite awhile trying to look through the forum, but it seems like there's so many opposing views about pads being really durable, and other people saying the same pads suck....
I'm looking for a nice soft pad, something that isn't really expensive, but I would also like something that will last me awhile. The ones that I've seen some people use at their houses, are these thick foam pads.
Everything would be a whole lot simpler if I wanted the DDR Extreme 2 Bundle that I've seen in stores before, but I'm reluctant to take a gamble, considering I've never heard the songs on that version of DDR. Instead I want to get DDR Max 2, because there are quite a few songs that I've seen and heard on there that I enjoyed. However, the official bundle that Konami sold is pretty much unavailable (unless someone knows where I could get it). So instead, i've been looking for an unofficial bundle.
My birthday's coming up, but I don't really want to make my parents spend more than $60-70 for the whole thing, since I'm not even really sure that I'll enjoy it. There has to be some soft pad that is good for a beginner, and since I need to develop my coordination, I probably won't get anywhere above Standard difficulty for awhile.
I know absolutely nothing about what makes a good pad, and I have no intention of getting a metal pad no matter how good I get.....so I'd like to get a soft pad with the highest quality, preferably in a bundle with the game included. Suggestions...?
Thanks a lot... |

http://ddrgame.com/pssuhidefopa.html This is my favorite foam pad. Is it a good pad? No, but it might last a while. With any pad besides a Cobalt Flux or maybe a few other high end pads you're going to have durability problems. And when you get better at DDR, its going to be a pain to play on foam, but you can always take out the foam and put in some wood. _________________

The Konami softpad is one of the best kinds, if you ask me. They don't slide around much, they last long, and they're pretty responcive (but that's only true if you compare it to other softpads). We use Konami softpads at my school, and regardless of my whoring of the 10 footers, and my friend's whoring of the difficult 9 and 8 footers, the pad still works like new (it's just a lil' dirty). So if you HAD to get a softpad, go with the Konami one. You'll be happy you did. |
