Really do you think it's pointless?

I think it's pointless, because going from Beginner to light is a somewhat big step. On Light, you get to the point where you don't keep your feet in the middle, yet beginner shows you that you do. ALL the Beginner songs are basically the same difficulty (if you can pass one you can pass them all). The only reason Beginner goes from 1-3 feet is because Beginner judges the foot rating not by song difficulty, but by BPM range, so if you have a song that's 250 BPM, it will be a 3, even if it's as easy as 1s or 2s.

I'd say that everyone should start on Light. It's a main difficulty and has a wide range of foot ratings, even some light songs are as easy as Beginner songs. It would be better to fail miserably on Light and slowly progress than to stay on beginner and pass everything, but fail Light stuff and take longer to progress (I know I did >_<).

I've noticed another common trend is for people to try to emulate the dancers in beginner mode. Too bad the dancers are like a minute offsync, so not only do people not know what direction the Right arrow is in, but they don't learn the idea of judgment timing either.

Ummm...actually this was posted BEFORE that thread was bumped, so you either told someone to bump it, or it was a coincidence that it was bumped. Either way hlavco is getting warned for bumping that thread and the post will most likely get deleted.

it's an old thread, I know, but just as soon as I watched this new one my first thought was "again?"

just to keep one thread going on and as it already has some material to keep the discussion going on, please use the older one
