Long Versions were, IIRC, introduced in DDR 5th mix and haven't been around since. Do you like the idea of dancing to a single tune for an extended amount of time, or do you think it's too tiring?
Also think about songs that have bad cuts due to the song length(Ex. Silence(Airscape Remix), Look to the Sky(Trance mix)...Silence didn't even make it to the chorus and LTTS(TM) had other fun parts in the song that didn't make the cut). _________________

I'd think that dancing that long would be really tough (for me at least), especially the stepchart for B4U (Glorious Style) on Heavy. That is a definite cata. I feel tired just looking at it.
It'd be hard on Heavy, but Light would be simple, thank goodness. _________________

Long versions should be less tiring. After all, nobody would want to play a 3 minute version of Max.(period), Max.(period). _________________

Difficulty for long versions should be kept at 9 foot at the highest, though if there were a long version of some of the easier 10's that wouldn't be too bad. I say that playing for an extended amount of time on a single song, even if it is really tiring, is an excellent way of improving your stamina. It's an added challenge, so why not? _________________

I enjoy songs being long. The longer they are, the more they demand from you, which means ultimately you'll improve in stamina drastically if you play enough difficult long version songs(unless they get soft and decide to add lone freezes in the middle to cool off). That's one reason I enjoy In The Groove more than DDR. Not just because the steps can be more difficult, but because the typical length is longer than that of DDR. I would especially enjoy to see some long versions of the Max series. It sounds scary to players still working on them, but I'd find it fun. Of course, there are some songs that I imagine would get quite boring if they were played for, say, seven minutes, and I imagine the variety of songs wouldn't be very great due to simply the amount of time it'd take to make arrow charts for songs that long. But I'm assuming long versions are seven minutes for fun. |

I've never played a long version on a pad (only on SM with my keyboard), but they look like tons of fun. It's too bad they were only in 5thMICKS. |

I've made my own sm files with songs that are 15mins plus.
Classical music can have the coolest stepcharts. |

It's not so much that it's tiring... it just gets too boring and repetitive. Playing a song and wondering, "When the f is this gonna end??" is not a good thing... |

I agree. In fact, I think 1.5-2 minutes is a pretty good length. Even on some of ITG's more repetitive/long songs, I start getting bored about 3/4ths of the way through. _________________

I can just imagine......The Least 333 Seconds (longer version of Least 100 seconds. BTW, 333 seconds=5:33). But if they do include long versions again, it should also have the short version avalible & count as 2 stages for being double the length. |

Those would be a bitch to AAA. Imagine black flagging a song that's 6 minutes long with 1000 steps? Would you ever wanna play that song again? _________________

Long songs should only be revived in the console versions. There's definitely demand out there, it's only the economics of ddr and arcades that really prevents their use or their return.
I'd love to play a longer Butterfly or Oops I did it again, as long as it wasn't quite as slow as Ex2's version. _________________

A long version of Seduction(Vocal Remix) would be amazing. For me, it seems like theres an aura of energy that surrounds the whole version that could keep me playing it again and again.
Another good song for a long version would be Captain Jack(the original version.) I think it sounds a lot better than grandale mix, though if it were the whole song they'd have to edit the "I wanna be a F***ing man" part somehow so the little kids won't cry.
EDIT: I just thought of something...Nonstop mode, Oni mode....howabout some sort of Long mode, with all long version songs? This could be introduced to the arcade as well! _________________

Imagine the full version of So Deep. It pains me to think of the stamina needed for that. But yeah, I wish we still had 5th mix at the arcade so I could hit up Hot Limit.
Long songs are pro.
Side Note: 6 minute songs would probably be Marathon Songs. Marathons take up 3 songs out of your credits. _________________
