I should think so. Cuz I was on a thread where we were talking about Des-Row's CD, which some people had (& lived in America). I never thought of music CDs having Region Protection. I'll check & see on one of the most reliable source on the internet. *Goes to Ebay* Well, looky here. I checked other aution for other style soundtracks & they say nothing about having to need a JP CD player. |

CDs aren't region encoded, so they'll play on any CD player.

and
amazon.com (which tends to be more expensive) _________________

Music CDs will play on any CD player, except when copy-protection gets in the way with some hardware. For some reason they never got hit with region restrictions.
Maybe because they were introduced before the concept of region restrictions was introduced, and introducing it now would be a major headache considering the problems that could arise with all the players that already exist for the format. |

Please read what I said and what you said.
CDs and DVDs are completely different mediums. Region Encoding is only done on DVDs.
CDs are universal. VCDs and Audio CDs can be played on any system so long as there isn't some weird copy protection on them.
PS1 games are done in a different way, however. I'm not exactly sure what they do with them to keep you from importing them. _________________

Well, it's not actually region encoding the same way it's done on DVDs, so I can't explain it that way. _________________

No I meant to the topic.
CD's aren't region coded, nor are they copy-protected (unless they have those new-fangled technology within them). VCD's/SVCD's/mini-DVD's are also the same. I've played many many VCD's/SVCD's from other countries on various players without a hitch. At this point, they're too widespread to introduce some kind of region coding effectively. Perhaps that's why the media is trying to introduce DVD-audio (which I'm assuming has the lock-out technology). _________________

I bought the DDR Extreme OST and it works in my CD players so I don't think that there will be a problem. Good luck finding one though. Order the one at borders fast or else you could have to search even more. _________________
