I don't know if there's a threat for this already, but what is the most reliable pad. Cobalt Flux, the Red Octane pad?
I want one that will basiclly last forever, or one that can be repaired easily. I thought I heard CF sells replacement arrows.

The CF is far more reliable than the Afterburner.

Blueshark is new pad, but so far it seems wery reliable too. Blueshark and Cobalt Flux are the best pads out there, so you need to chose one of them. However they are both quite expensive.

Yeah they are pretty expensive. I was thinking of getting a $30 Blueshark Xpert dance pad too, if they're any good. Is the $200 Blueshark Solomode 1100 good? $300 is kinda hard to swallow.

careful. I think the solo mode pad you're referring to is actually either a bluespark (SPARK, not SHARK), or just a mymybox MX1100 which is a TX-1000 E1.gif

Yup, pretty much.

Your best bets in terms of lasting would be the CF, then the BlueShark, then the After Burner. Anything else usually under $199 can be crap.

The only name with blue in it is BlueShark. I just bought one and yes, it's SHARK.

CF.

Made of lexan and sheet metal, instead of acrylic plastic and foil.

TX4000 is the pad to ones who want good pad for cheap. It surely isn't the best pad out there, but it is a better than a average metal pad. And it costs only 99$ in lik-sang! Test it, buy it and love it! I have no regrets of buying TX4000.

Yeah, I just received my Cobalt Flux in the mail on Monday and it's freakin awesome. I had a 50 dollar Red Octane style soft pad (it was a BNS pad) and that thing wore out on me in a few months. A friend of mine got it worse when his 100 dollar RO soft pad broke down on him around the same time. I mean 50 bucks is one thing...but wasting 100 bucks is just damn... The CF is definitely worth the 300 bucks I invested in it. I've been wanting to get it for like almost 2 years now and it's good to finally have it to practice DDRing with at home. The thing is heavy duty and all the electronics are inside the control box so you won't have to worry about stepping on and breaking wires inside of the step pads.

The pad is also extremely responsive. You barely have to put your feet on a step to get it to respond. Making multiple step patterns and jump arrows a lot less of a hassle than they are on the cheaper pads. It also weighs about 50 pounds and has slip resistant pads on the bottom so you don't have to worry about it moving to the other side of the room as you're playing. Especially if you're using it on hardwood floor. On carpet it'll still move a little bit...but not enough to affect your gameplay. You just might have to adjust the pad slightly once in a while to center it out. Which is still way better than moving across the room in one song like with the soft pads.

I've talked to people who've said they've had their CF for over a year and a half and they've yet to have a malfunction. Just regular cleaning of the top and bottom of the step arrows is about all the maintenance you'll really have to perform. If for whatever reason the controls stop working in your pad 95 percent of the time it'll be a bad control box. In which they can send you a new one for about 20 bucks and your pad would be in working order again after that. Basically, the pad was made to be extremely responsive, yet durable so it can withstand the beating from DDR pros who will really make the most out of it. According to the website, you can run over it with an SUV and it'll still work if you brought it back into your house. Of course...I wouldn't suggest to do such a thing but...
