|
|
I've fallen in love with beatmania since the day I played IIDX 4th Style in an arcade for a day. I bought BMUS and was able to pass a little more than half of Normal Mode songs.
My question is roughly how much would it cost to get a japanese playstation, IIDX RED, and one other style.
so this
1.) How much would 2 styles and a japanese playstation cost
2.) What would be another good style to get - if you like hardcore techno and trance
3.) Does the American BM controller work on japanese styles?
4.) Where would I be able to buy all this, perferrably with paypal _________________

1) @playasia: JPS2 $219, IIDX RED preorder $65, 10th style $70, 9th style $40 [buy it! too cheap to pass up], 8th style $70
on ebay: various styles probably around $40-65
2) 10th style has some good trance
3) yes, and vice versa
4) play-asia.com or lik-sang.com are good
songlists can be found here, just make sure you click on the PS2 versions and not the AC ones (though youd probably realize it pretty quickly) _________________

Does PlayAsia take PayPal? If so, I'm looking into buying RED there.
219 is pretty expensive for a japanese ps2. I'll look around Ebay for a cheaper one, do they come cheaper than that anywhere else? _________________

What do you mean.. fliptop. Link for information? If it doesn't require too much ... editting to PS2 itself, it doesn't sound bad. I just need a link or two for buying and information. _________________

oh geez if you didnt know about the flip top, you have to go with that. its much cheaper but wont hurt your system. its what i did.
if you have an non slim ps2, you can just get a different top case part that allows you to swap discs without the system knowing. you then use magic swap discs to boot up japanese games on your american system.
ill get some info in a bit
edit: heres instuctions with pics to give you an idea _________________

You should buy stuff from Play-Asia. They're really good and for everything you buy, they include a coupon for your next order! They also have a good track record, cheap shipping, and great customer service.
If you do plan on importing using Play-Asia, help me out and use the link in my signature. I am an affiliate with them. _________________

Yeah, totally get a Flip-top and Swap Magic. If you're efficient at shopping around, you could easily get the pair for 25 bucks.
1.) How much would 2 styles and a japanese playstation cost
Two styles could run you anywhere from 60-200 dollars, depending on how old they are. HOWEVER, if you get a flip-top mod, you can simply download the ISO image of each style and burn them to a DVD. That would run you roughly 10 bucks for the lot of them!
2.) What would be another good style to get - if you like hardcore techno and trance
4th, 6th, and 9th are big techno Styles. 8th and 10th have some really good Trance stuff. Personally, my favorite songlist is on 8th Style CS. Thunder and War Game are simply awesome songs, in my opinion.
3.) Does the American BM controller work on japanese styles?
Yep! However, if and when you decide to mod your controllers, bear in mind that the inside of the US controller is set up a little differently from the Japanese versions. (How's this for weird: the AMERICAN version is smaller and more compact!)
I hope you enjoy your new obsession! _________________

OR YOU COULD BUY THEM. Don't listen to this idiocy, christ I want to give him warning points myself!
Buy the damn games, run them on your fliptop. Piracy is not the answer to everything...
(I swear people are getting too damn flippant about copying games these days...) |

everything I've ever pirated has always been worse for the original, so I stopped. It isn't that much of a deal to go out and buy something that you really really want. Does anyone have a songlist for IIDX RED CS? It would entice me to try and get this moving along quicker. _________________

Oh, heaven forbid I even MENTION piracy! How can I ever LIVE with this stain on my conscience, now!? My God, I've tainted the entire Bemani community with my terrible sins against mankind!
After all of that supplying I've done (which is NONE), and all of those links that I've posted (which is NONE), and hell, all of that proof that I myself commit piracy (which is NONE), I've RUINED this board's innocence! And now we need Flazh, the self-appointed champion of justice in order to correct this terrible atrocity.
Get a clue, jackass. Ever played DDR Extreme in the arcade? You've just commited an international crime. Ever imported a video game? That's illegal, too.
Step 1: READ COPYRIGHT LAWS BEFORE POSTING YOUR RAMPANT IDIOCY.
Step 2: DON'T THROW STONES IF YOU YOURSELF LIVE IN A GLASS HOUSE.
Step 3: STOP POSTING UNTIL YOU DEVELOP THE ABILITY TO MAKE A COHERENT POINT SUPPLIMENTED BY REAL ARGUMENTS.

Wow are you seriously that retarded, trying to justify piracy?
First off theres different degrees of crimes. Im sure you don't think that a mass murderer and the guy who steals a pack of gum have commited crimes equal in seriousness
Buying an import, while technically illegal due to licensing issues, really isn't a major crime. The company who made the game still gets paid in full and can continue producing the series.
Stealing the game off the internet, where the company gets NO money for their work is a much serious crime.
You do realize that Bemani games aren't as insanely popular as you wish they were. IIDX sells nothing for the most part and the only reason they continue to produce it is because its semi popular in arcade. They make like no money off the CS releases of any of their games, except for maybe Pop'n and even then I'm sure its not much.
I'm not going to lie I do have pirated copies of some of the games, but I gradually replace them with legitimate copies over. Don't be a jackass and try and encourage people to put Bemani games to an early death. _________________
