I saw this pad on ebay, but couldn't find any info on it on the forums already.

If anyone knows anything about this pad, I'd be much obliged. Vortz seems to have had some good reviews as a manufacturer, but the company website is down.

I'm an intermediate DDR player (7's & 8's, mostly Heavy mode) and am definitely ready to move up from modded soft pads. However, I want to be able to continue to play in my stockinged-feet and am not willing to shell out $300+ for a CF pad. If I can't find any info, I guess I'll just buy a BNS Fusion pad...but I only weigh 130lbs and am a bit worried about it's sensitivity.

Well, me and my friend just bought one of these and I really hope it lasts. I'm a heavy player (I can pass 11 steps) and I need it to last and not slip and be atleast functional. I'll give a full review of this pad when I get it.
It looks pretty cool and I'll be able to use it on StepMania and StepManiaX aswell as any other DDR game for PS2 or XBox so that's good.
Is the middle a button or something? It looks odd...
also I don't mind soldering or anything because I can do it well, so if something breaks on it, looks like I'm going to be fixing it myself E13.gif
Anyways, I'll let you guys know how well they are when I get it.

I hope this doesn't count as a double post, but I'm going to give a review on this pad so that you guys know the good things and bad things about the pad.

Good: -USB/PS2/XBOX compatible
-Works well with stepmania
-Has 4 other buttons for functionality
-Has control box so that you can use start and select
-Shiney! laugh.gif
-Doesn't slip a bit
-Absorbs almost all the shock of a jump so it's never noisy
-You can wear shoes on it (just don't try boots)

Bad: -Needs lots of gameplay to "wear it in"
-Sometimes holds aren't always perfect (just because it's still stiff from being new)
-Easy to scratch
-Sharp edges (but unless your stupid, it's hard to hurt yourself on it)
-A little slippery

So yeah, I got it for about 160 bucks canadian and I think it's well worth what me and my friend paid for it. I advise you to buy this if you want a cheap but good quality metal pad. Other than that, stick with higher quality ones that cost 300 bucks...
