First some info, I have a soft foam pad and like it alot. But I'd rather have a more durable metal pad. Only problem is I need play in my socks, and the metal pad hurts me feet, that's why I like my soft foam pad so much, it doesn't hurt when you jump on it.
Here is my thought, make a hard pad (like all the home made metal pads), but make it all out of wood (no metal and plexiglass), then take the tick foam that I use for my garage mats (same foam this is inside my soft foam pad), and glue it to the top of the home made hard pad. I was thinking some tuff glue like liquid nails.
Has any body glued foam to a hard pad before, will it hold up from jumping on it? |

thanks not really what I had in mind. In the pad you linked to, your foot still touches a hard surface, I want my foot to touch a foam pad.
I was thinking more like this...
Make a "hard pad" just like everybody else does.
than...
Take 1" foam pads (like what I use on my garage floor, see pic #1. This foam is the same the foam found inside the foam DDR dance pads, see pics #2), and glue those to the top of my hard pad. There will not be any color arrows or graphics, all you will see on top is the 9 squares of of foam.
I wont actually be using any parts of a soft/foam pad.
This shows black and white squares, but mine are all gray.
