Hello all we have been having alot of problems with pads at my job now. our newest pad problem is strange. First of all my boss had ordered these "strange" new pads i have never seen before, he said there from a company named cateye who make video game bikes for ps2. I don't know if many or (any) of you heard of this pad here so ill describe alittle about it. Its very fancy looking.....the base is made of wood and it has raised corner buttons around the arrows to give you that arcade feel. It is a 10 panel pad no control box needed, the bottom left corner pad says play to live and the bottom right says www.gamebike.com, i have tried both cateye and gamebike sites and they have nothing about this pad disgust.gif each of these pads coast $1,300 each! for that price i was trying to convince my boss to just wait and buy In The Groove 3 for the arcade that would be around $10k right? Anyway the edges of the wood around the base are starting to split off and we only have had these pads for 6 days now and somtimes an arrow gets "stuck" I sure hope to god my boss saved the warrenty on those pads. anyway do u guys think its possible that bent chords/too much dust in the ps2 system/ scratched DDR disc could be a problem with our other red octane pads?(yes we have other pads these are not the ones discribed above) or dose only certian arrow problems occur with the pads only? Thanks a bunch guys and sorry for so many questions! E7.gif

http://store.affiliatefitness.com/ddradpl.html

That's the closest thing I could find to what's being described. $1300.

It's a CF though.

it's hard to give advice. has cateye ever even been talked about in the forums? even the TX line of metal pads have been talked about more than this cateye dance pad you speak of. i may be going out on a limb, but your boss may have gotten ripped off. you're probably better off purchasing CF's, since even those have a pronounced return policy.

bleh! I dont' have a camera to take a picture of it frown.gif but yea its definetly from the company cateye...whish i could show u guys because the pad really is beutiful looking and it looks nothing like the link posted above. The problem is fixed now, it turns out the metal peice protecting the sensor below the arrow needed some more velcro because it kept getting stuck to the sensor

What mix of DDR are you using? As far as I know you can disable the corner arrows under dance play setting in the options in all of them except extreme 1. Is that what you mean?

Ahhh didn't know anything about options I bring a ton of dance games in...yes we do have exteme 1 but since most of the people have abandoned DDR for ITG and somtimes FLOW i cant seem to find the options for this especially ITG would be helpful because everyone gose bonkers for that game now (including me) biggrin.gif And please feel free to stop on by and take a tour of the place I'll let you try all of our dance pads and if they give you any problems letting you in just ask for Brian (thats me) thanks again =)

they are the best/closest (if not better) thing to the arcade pads i have ever tested (they had better be for $1,300 each). the one thing i like is you dont have to step half as hard on here then the arcade there actually even more sensitive. which is a really awsome thing. plus the wood absorbs the impact of stomping better so it's better for your legs/knees then a metal pad. I don't know how long these pads will last 2 of them have edges split off minor things but ill keep you guys up to date on these cateye pads there really a luxury to have. BTW DDR MAX dose not seem to have a disable cornter buttons =(

DDR MAX does have the ability to turn those suckers off. Look through all the options.

In the DDR games, the option to turn off corner buttons isn't clearly marked as such. You're looking for an option called "Dance Play" or "Dance Play Settings". Wherever you see "dance play", read it as "make the corner buttons trigger the arrows".
