|
|
Hi everyone,
We are students from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. We are currently taking a market research class and our research topic is Dance Dance Revolution (DDR). We are studying why DDR has been such a popular game.
One of the requirements for this course is for us to distribute a survey and analyze the data. We are asking for your help in taking our survey. If you can help us out that would be great!!!
It is SUPER straight forward and simple. And, it will only take 5 minutes of your time.
Here is the link:

Thanks a lot guys!!! If you have any questions just hit me up with an Email at [email protected]

The idea for that pads seems very interesting. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Hope it doesn't cost too much. _________________

I took it. Im not too sure what I would think of the "pad" though. Id have to see a demonstration first. |

Don't come crying to me if I don't know my yearly income. That's my parents' thing and it's nothing I think about. |

People have done light based pads before.
Also it wouldnt feel right, no recessed arrows, no shock absorbing abilities, fear of lack of registration. _________________

I'm not sure if I'd get the "light pad" either. It just wouldn't feel right stomping around on the floor. *Hugs TX-1000* Dammit, the down arrow broke on it again _________________

Took the survey. The pad idea doesn't sound too great though. Like I said in the survey, I'd ideally want a replica of an arcade pad (metal, recessed, etc.), preferably like the PIU:ITG2 Dedicabs. _________________

I took the survey. The pad idea sounds ok, but I think their would be many flaws in its design. _________________

I had a problem with the survey. The choices for "year of birth" went "1961" and then "before 1960". That leaves me out... |

Heh, so I would just be stepping on light then? I don't really like the idea, but what sounds cool is instead of making a pad of light make a mod adjustable for everypad that maybe projects the light on your current dance pad? instead of making it a dance pad in itself. ANd by the thing where it says the light will move aroubd. Does that mean your pad projects will just move around the room while you step in on the arrows? 0.o _________________

Took the survey and thought it was very effective. However, the new idea of the pad could be a bit controversial. I don't know about other people, but being able to feel the ridges of the pad, help me to keep my concentration. I'm not sure a light sensitive pad would help out =/ _________________

you could make a unit for the projecter to project onto with recressed spots for the arrow sensor to go onto if your handy, but im not and i cant stand not being able to know where i am on the pad. |

I took the survey as well. (Then again, who didn't)
The laser pad seems interesting, especially with it moving around. I'm a freestyler at heart (and sometimes in the game as well), and one of my druthers with the game is that you can't actually move around a lot, physical location-wise. The moving of the pad makes it interesting. |

Its an interesting concept, but I play on tile floors, and this may be painful if i dont play with shoes, and loud if i do play with shoes...(And we didnt do the best job tiling, and some are a bit more sunk in than the others) _________________

Recessed Arrows ! Anyway, I don't think the light pad is a good idea, the likliness that arcades will catch on to this is slim to none, not very good for bringing the arcade experience home. _________________
