DDR still is cool in my eyes, especially with SUPERnova coming out. However, I have tried both ITG and PIU, and this is what I have to say...
ITG in my mind is just another 4-panel dancing game, mainly because I could care less about mods, and thus don't use them, so the new ones are useless. The stepcharts are cleaner (minimal spins, insane jumps, etc.), but I don't really care too much, because for songs such as HVAM and Afronova, there are alternate ways to do things except double stepping (spinning and the Afronova Walk repectively, and yes I do realize spinning is hard, but not impossible). Yes, the Expert difficulty is something, but it consists of mostly drumrolls when you get to 12s and 13s anyway (ex. HotN and Pandemonium), not very fun to step on because you're just moving your feet as fast as you can, and having little to no rhythmic variety.
Overall, it's just too similar to DDR, and I'm not impressed by the new features. However, I will play it from time-to-time, but not as hardcore and as enthusiasticaly as I would playing DDR.
PIU . The face explains it, I don't like the five-panel design, and most of the music is K-Pop (), which is one ogf the few music genres i hate.
In Conclusion, I will always stick to DDR as long as I have any versions of it, because the other dancing games out there don't have much more to offer to me. _________________

Eh, I only play DDR. I guess because I'm too lazy to go out and buy ITG. |

That's a healthy attitude to have in life. _________________

I love ITG, and I've been in the "scene" since 2001.
I love 2.5x, freeze rolls, double stars, handplants, and the Fantastic window.
I also love 1xing, Butterfly Upswing, SS's, the invention of All Music Mode, and long versions.
I love the fact that I've AAed almost all of the game and have been around forever, and I equally love the fact that my picture's most probably going to be in ITG3.
I'm oldschool and evolving, baby. |

Clearly, your life is an endless cavalcade of winning.
EDIT: It appears the Legend of Rofl Survivor Sakura RevenG 300 Max N00b Unlimited Oni has that same winning effect. _________________

So I'm guessing this thread is gonna essentially be a bunch of people bitching about speed mods, the bar, and the death of freestyle.
God we need more of that on DDRFreak. _________________

Congratulations, that is close to one of the stupidest reasons I have ever heard. If you don't like a particular song, DON'T PLAY IT. Honestly, I hate the Dax and Anet stuff, but I'm not going to sit there and say "lolo i can't' ply ths gmae nemaor." _________________

Anybody remember the songs Do You Love Me, or The Rhymebrokers, or Macho Gang. God I wish we had a 2nd mix/or 2nd Mix Club Version. (either one is awesome) _________________

All this talk of new-school bashing(which I agree with somewhat because it honestly IS annoying for me to see kids say they're tops at the game when they use 1.5x and solo JUST TO PASS SONGS), and yet nobody's mentioned anything about Kyle Snyder's vids? Some old-schoolers you guys are. _________________
