|
|
allright, so i tried making my own dance pad and failed miserably....so i decided im just going to get a metal pad. I found these TX dance pads on ebay....and i was wondering what TX pad you guys would reccomend. I really don't need a bar or anything, i just want a decent dance pad where you can feel where you are on the pad...so those retarded really shiny ones that look cool are out of question(i think they're called tx-4000's)....i basically want one as close to the arcade feel. Please help me! _________________

Those retarded shiny tx pads you where talking about are actually the only considerable tx-pads. Dont even think of getting tx1000/tx2000 because they will brake wery easily. They are old models are being replaced by the new ones (tx4000, tx6000 and tx1501,tx2501). |

If youre into modding, get tx-1000's. Theyre great pads once modded properly, your best bet is what he said above |

Just get one of those "ninja" pads (they are just tx4000s that are a little cheaper cause they dont have metal panels) or just a tx4000
ps: Like they said- DO NOT GET A TX1000!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________

the thing is; the reason i dont really like the colbalt fluxes is because i cant feel where I am on the pad well at all. The Redoctane Afterburner i liked a lot(my friend got one) but it broke and now he has to send it back and since redoctanes customers service blows i really dont want to mess with that. May I add he made us play with no shoes on and we dont stomp hard, the pad just breaks easily. Back to subject: but can you really feel where you are on these pads? The thing I love about Ignitions/foamies is how i can feel were I am and same goes for the arcades(even though my arcades DDR pads are a little crappy...). Basically, I just want a pad that will last and one that i can feel where I am on the damn thing!
and also, i dont want to get into all this "modding" stuff. I'm not exactly the handiest person around, so messing around with metals is NOT something i would feel comfortable doing.
and what about the tx-6000s....ive never seen those. Are they any good?
and finally, i found this pad on DDRgame.com that looks just like an arcade pad, although the site seems like it might not be 100% legit. heres the link to it.

has anyone got this pad and is it any good? _________________

You seem to be confused which pad is which. Here is a short introduce in to the TX series
TX1000:
old model which isn't produced anymore. Many webstores have these pads still stock, and they sell them for wery cheap. However dont buy them because they will brake wery easily.
Dont buy it!
TX2000:
same as TX1000, but it has a weak bar attached on it (the bar breaks easily). Dont buy it!
TX1501:
Its a new tx model. Practically it is an updated wersion of TX1000. I havent seen anyone who owns this pad yet, so I cant say if its bad or good
TX2501:
same as TX1501, but has a weak bar attached on it
TX3000:
the pads surface is made out of one metal block. It means you cant sense where you are on the pad. Bad sensitivity. I dont recomend of getting one.
TX 5000:
same as TX3000, but has a weak bar attached on it
TX 4000:
was releashed at the same time as TX1501. So far mine has worked well. The arrows are made of metal, and the arrows aren't recessed. However the arrows bend inwards so I know where I am.
I recomend this if you have a small DDR budget (only 99$ in lik-sang)
TX6000:
same as a TX 4000, but has a weak bar attached on it.
Baisicly all bars in the whole TX series are wery weak.

The pad you mentioned is tx2000 which is a same as tx1000 with bar. Your arcade looking pad is actually one of the worst pads in the market. And top of that.. the site where you found that pad is wery untrustable.. and OVERPRICED! You can get tx2000 for 80$. That site charges 236$. Its a ripoff. The sites "original" price for the product makes me laugh (679$). Dont buy from that site.
You should not chose the pad by how they look. If you are into arcade feel, the afterburner might be the closest. CF with arcade mod also gives arcade feel (they instal the mod before they send it to you in the factory if you ask). I can also recomend TX4000. However the pad doesnt have recessed arrows. But atleast I can feel well where I am on the pad. It feels totally different when you are missing the arrow. Non arrow button is hard - the arrow is flexible and bends in.
Try to search more these forums. They have all the info required. |

actually, i think i saw the TX 1501 on there that looked basically the same as an afterburner only plainer for $90 on lik-sang. The only thing that worries me are the brakets, they have screws sticking out on the top. The TX 4000 also appears to have the screw brackets also. Do you play with shoes or socks/bare feet on it? Which one works the best? and are these brackets even anything to get worked up about? Im skeptical on which one to get, but my parents said i can get one and theyll pay for half of it!! i'll probably do some reasearch on the 1501 model and see if its any good, because i like how it is very simular to the arcade pad so i'll be able to practice up and feel comfortable on arcade pads. _________________

I play socs on. The brackets are actually not sticking out so much. They are only few millimeters over the actual pad level. They arent sharp or anything and I havent cut my toe on it. Playing on TX series might be little different from the arcade. |

The TX-4000 is actually worse than the TX-1000 if you put aside the fact that the TX-1000 always breaks.
The TX-4000 has horrible sensitivity, so unless if your willing to break your hands to do triples and quads in ITG I wouldn't recommend getting it. If you use it for DDR, it shouldn't be too bad though. |

Presuming the TX6000 is the same, then you're wrong. It's like that at first, but once you've played for a day or so, it gets better. And now I have a pad with very good sensitivity. _________________

it may be different, but surely it cant be as different as a CF.
Don't get me wrong, i love CFs, but there's no way i'll pay $300-some dollars on a pad that won't help me get comfortable with arcade pads.
Maybe I should stick with foams until SOMEONE releases a decent non-CF pad.
And i refuse to get afterburners cuz my friend got one and it broke after a week or 2, and now redoctane isn't even responding to him! |

If you don't like the fact that you can't feel where you are on the cf, then just buy the arcade mod. |

well, im only 14, so paying $300+shipping for a pad+having to mod it is kinda out of the question. If i broke it, i might have to kill myself. Haha, not really, but the point is, right now, CF is out of the question unless i can find one on ebay. Which i never have, so the answer is no to the CF. TX i hear bad things about, and all other metals are the same as TX basically. I have a favor to ask, can someone give me a basic guidlines to the metal pads along with the price. I'll pay $200 without shipping tops, and no more than $250 with shipping.
Anyone know a decent pad that fits this criteria? _________________
