Can I rewire an xbox pad for ps2 use...

Ok, so I was wondering, since I no longer own any of the xbox ddr games. Yet, I still have the official pad. Would it be possible to cut off the ends of both a ps2 pad, an xbox pad, and rewire the ps2 end to the xbox pad, so it would still work. Is this possible? >_>

There's probably way, OR you could buy an XBox>PS2 adapter which would be far simplier. More expensive, yes (prolly cost you about $15 or so for the adapter) but chances are you'd mangle the wiring in your pad anyways and would have to buy a new one.

Hey...just an update...

I opened both pads up, and pulled both apart, by the little black lining...and just aligned the ps2 conrtol box (so to speak) to the black lining of the xbox. and it works perfectly!

Xbox uses USB for the pads, while PS2 uses a SIO type port. The similarities end in the fact that they are both serial protocols, everything else is TOTALLY different. So no changing plugs and expecting that to work.

But of course, if you switch the controller boards like you did, that will work perfectly. The pads themselves are the same, just different control board for ps2 or xbox.
