Because I remember joining way back in like, 01. I now can't find any topics, posts, or anything to do with my older account.

AFAIK, there was a mass cleanup where everything got deleted after some April Fool's thing back in '03... before my time, though

| Topics are deleted automatically when they get too old. They drop off the final page into oblivion. |

You can set phpBB that way, but we don't.
We migrated to phpBB over Christmas '01, and thus you see my registration date (and pretty much all the moderators/staff) are in January 2002. We have had a single thread purge from May or June '03 back. Past that, we haven't trimmed anything. It wasn't AFD-related - it was just something that was done to try and speed up the server my trimming down the number of indexed topics and posts.
