kinda confuses me...

I asked this question in the "whats the weirdest background" topic, but it wasnt answered.

It confuses me about some of the backgrounds while playing, Lom, and trip machine survivor. Who are those guys and why are they chasing after each other? is there some sort of story behind this? If there was already a question like this on page 60-something of the forums, please send me a link.

There's not much of a story to it. It's just a recurring background movie where an agent-looking guy is chasing someone carrying a vial of something. The video for Paranoia Survivor Max in Beatmania IIDX revolves around it too.

Apparently, on the IIDX video for PSM, the long-haired, sunglasses guy is trying to keep the green-hat guy from getting a vial of color(?) from a facility that displays the background of all the previous PARANOiAs, so long-hair guy chases him everywhere in a black-and-white setting. The green-hat guy loses him in an alley and finds the vial behind a screen with the PSM background on it.

At that moment, the long-hair guy finds him again and resumes chase. After more running, the gap between the running guys starts to close, and once the green-hat guy is within arms' reach, the long-hair guy grabs him by the face, pulls him down, and takes the vial back. Just then, the vial explodes in his hand and releases color everywhere. The video shows a few clips of more running and the ever-famous transforming DDR machine, then displays the song title.

You can find this video in BemaniStyle's Media Shop section if you're a member. There are also rumors floating about that the running guys are Bemani artists. Some say the long-hair guy is Naoki and the green-hat guy is dj TAKA, while others say the long-hair guy is dj TAKA and the green-hat guy is TaQ. Others say these people are looking into it too much.

Now, what I don't get is the presence of the third running person who appears in clips for some songs, like Genom Screams. Where exactly does this guy(?) tie in, and who is it?

You'll learn to ignore the backgrounds once you play Ska a go go and see "The Flying Dog" background. They're nothing but random things, really.

I like the video for PSM in IIDX because it kinda shows the whole little scene. Its funny at the end when the color gets out and they're like, "Wtf?"

dont ask why, but I always thought the green hat guy was named max. (because of LOM, hey, hes playing ddr, but max 300 and max unlimited at the same time?, strange)
