Anybody heard of a dance game called Urban Dance Uprising, its from the guys who brought us that oh so stinky piece of cheese "Get on Da Mic".
I saw it on gamespot

http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/puzzle/flowurbandanceuprising/news_6134723.html

Everybodys getting on the dance game bandwagon, I hope it doesnt kill the mainstream audience. Even if it doesnt tank (Of course it will) Konami is going to sue Ubisoft , because the preview images right now look vaguely like DDR.

First Madcatz Mcgroove Dance Beat, and that Country western Dance game thats suppose to come out now this a hip hop/rap dance game
When will the madness end!!!!

What's ironic about your statement is that ITG is a copy.

lets agree to disagree, everybody.
Theres DDR and the wannabe DDR lookalikes.
Some lookalikes are good. MOST are very bad.
Anybody like the game Get On Da Mike? The guys who are making this game made Get On Da Mike. Which I have and can say without any doubt sucks, and is a Karaoke Revolution Wannabe.

What I meant to say was that, KR was the same as Get on da Mic because they use singing in the game. I know that KR doesnt have rap.
Im glad it does not.

hip hop, rap whatever I kind of bunch it up in the same catagory.
Im really not into that genre of music. But its not the music thats the problem its the gameplay, and the way they use the music anyways. Play it and you tell me if its bad or good. I happen to own that game, it may not be as bad as Britney Dance Beat or MCgroove Dance beat but Its no gem either. I do like beat type games and I own that game, along with alot of others some good, some bad.

Hip Hop and Rap are two different Genre. Hip Hop emphasizes on beats along with lyrics that aren't about killing and whatnots. ie. The Roots. Rap is basically lyrics that have meaning to it. Ie. 2 Pac.

Doesn't look too bad if you like Hip Hop music.

Not everyone likes dancing to Love Shine or Breakdown.

I always felt that DDR could use some more hip hop, rap, and R&B. I'm just annoyed that this game will only be made for the PlayStation 2.

Ooh, this game is gonna have Eric B and Rakim and Kurtis Blow on it? That's actually pretty cool. I'm a big fan of hip hop from the early 80s to the early 90s, stuff like Eric B and Rakim as already mentioned, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5, Run DMC, NWA, etc. Songlist, though, is only part of the equation of course. If the stepcharts are poorly done (MC Groovz Dance Craze, anyone? No? No surprise there), then the best songlist in the world is useless. Should that be the case, I suppose I can fall back on Ultramix 3 with Run DMC and Blackalicious. E1.gif

The following is a personal review after playing FLOW:

PROS
Features tournament mode where 3-8 players can battle it out in a championship, breakdancing, 100 challenges

CONS
Songs sound similar, songs seem to be close in bpm, game takes a while to load graphics, O button is confirm and X button is back (which I found to be an annoyance), arrows are black, eighth beats are dark red, sixteenth beats are the color of the preceeding beat arrow making spacing a factor to read not arrow color (which takes some getting used to)

Song List
Cipher
C-mon Y'all
Cake
Taurus
I Remember
Dueling DJs
Waterworld
Shell Toes
We Can Do It
How We Do
Get On the FLoor
Control the Crowd
5 Slippin
Superfunk 2000
Sun Power
Freak
The Come On
Purple Perpendicular Phonics - J-Boogie's Dubtronic Science
Soul Chips
8 is Enuff
Movin to My Beat
Udu Shuffle
They Wand EFX - Das EFX
8th Wonder - Sugar Hill Gang
Jam On It - Newcleus
Doin' Our Own Dang
The Breaks - Curtis Blow
Don't Sweat the Technique - Eric B. and Rakim
Right Where
Microphone Fiend - Eric B. and Rakim
Zero Gs
Smashing
Without a Doubt
Do It
Not Gangsta
Under Pressure
Popped
Back to the Lab
Orgasmic Electrons
What You Gonna Do
Indy 500
OG
Needlz
Get Up NP
Hardcore
Break a Leg
Sugar
On the Rhodes
Bozo
Mindblowing

Gameplay
Arrows scroll, hit them with the beat and you character busts out some amazing skills, miss a step during a backflip and your character falls on his head. I like the way the dancer responds to how well you do. For people who like 8+ feet on high bpm songs, you won't find it in this game. The steps were not all that challenging, but freestyling with the eyetoy option might be fun if I had one.
