Sakura is a great song with good music and backgrounds, but when I bought Dance Dance Revolution Extreme 2, I saw a very dumb change when i unlocked the song. The arcade version had the japanese symbol on the girl's cheek that means sakura, or cherry blossems. On the one that I unlocked on the new game it spelt out the word SAKURA in english letters on the girls cheek which I found very stupid. Sakura also struck me as a very serious and intense song and the one on the new game, the backgrounds of it are not what they where in the arcade version. They used two different girls and they expressed the new girl with bright colors and they had very simple backgrounds and pictures. They are probably many different changes in songs from arcade to home-versions that dont make sense or are just plane stupid. Name them here E13.gif

You are concerned about a topic related to DDR Extreme 2, correct? If i'm not mistaken, there is already a thread discussing this game and any aspects of the game. I believe it's right here.

I'm too busy focusing on the arrows so I barely notice the background unless it's flashing.

I felt the same about the fact its always (and still is) a serious and intense song, but just because they changed the backgrounds, doesnt change the song.

It's an American home version. What did you expect? Most people who buy the game probably wouldn't be able to tell you that 桜 is Sakura; it makes sense to change it.

And for a little trivia, Sakura's video in Beatmania IIDX (where it originally appeared) was bright and rainbow-y.

on the other note, it is kind of weird seeing a whole english word written on someones face, but it doesnt really take away from the song. i'll agree i did like the arcade vid better, but its still basically the same thing. also, is it just me or does the quality of the song sound different then the arcade? iunno it just sounds a little weird, but it might be because it's comming from cheap t.v. speakers rather then arcade subs
