Say a moderator had a bad day and got a point. Could he take the point off himself?

We couldn't, even if we wanted to. Us mods can only remove the points that we personally give out.

Then again, I'm only a Green foot, I don't know what the admins can/can't do.

I believe the admins can remove points from anyone. But then again, I'm not totally sure. Rarely would it be necessary for such an action to need to happen.

Yeah I remember Jdogg removing 3 points from a member. This was because he got warned twice for the same offence.

Plain and simple:

Mods can only remove points they issued.

Admins can remove points from everyone.

Also, sherl0k's explanation doesn't mention moderators giving themselves points if they feel guilty or bad about something they did, which has happened. We're human and we make mistakes.

Ah yes, we can warn ourselves if we feel the need to. We can also warn other mods/admins
