youse guys are crazy i only have about 119 or something or all the itg songs and at my other computer i have all ddr mixes+ITG 1 and 2
i think i used to have like 600 songs until i quit stepmania but then i got addicted again : )

I had to use the SMStats program to help me out, since I'm not crazy enough to try to load up all the songs in Stepmania at once (most of the songs I have are stored in other directories), but... I think I win.

In active usage (mainly official DDR & ITG songs):

Found 1441 songs in 64 groups
DWI: 1042
SM: 398
KSF: 1
BMS: 0

Size of directory: 4724MB

Storage location #1:

Found 3789 songs in 88 groups
