You can make images in whatever imaging program you want. Most of the nice ones are made in Photoshop, but you could use MS Paint if you wanted.

DJS - Photoshop, or MS (Microsoft, right?) Paint - got it, thx!

Stealth Shadow - E2.gif Do I have to lay off the smilies? ...
riiight.gif Well, I guess I could ... E15.gif Nah! laugh.gif jk!

*No smilies past this point*
Ok, seriously now, you asked Igmornanus to clarify the questions:

Can anyone help me making banners, etc. for the song select screen?

Also, if I'm making a complete set of everything (not just .sm and MP3)
for, let's say, Bohemian Rhapsody (Woohoo! *Smiley edited out*).
I found an awesome image for the starting BG (background, right?),
http://www.lit-fuse.net/bohemian_rhapsody.jpg
and I don't think there will be any legal issues with it.
Chime in if I'm wrong.

How can I make a Stepmania-readable picture to put in the BoRap folder?
-----------------------------------
How can I turn off "This song requires two stages" ?
----------------------------------
Can I put smilies in Stepmania? LOL/JK!!!!!!!!
----------------------------------
What's the difference between a movie, a moving BG image, and a still
BG image?
----------------------------------
How can I make certain
stillBGpics/movies/stillBGimages/movingBGimages
appear at certain times, for certain lengths of time, and/or in a certain
order (thinking of Sakura)?
----------------------------------
What about lyrics?
----------------------------------
LOTS more questions (and smilies) coming later.

Don't distribute and i won't chime (which stands for a lot of the sm/dwi files out there)

assuming you're using the name "BoRap," you'd use two pictures, BoRap.png and BoRap-bg.png (not sure if it's only png though)

sadly, you'd have to make the song shorter.

no, please don't, and if you do, don't tell be about it =P

a movie is just what it is, a video file that loads on cue. BGAnimations are what i think you're referring to as "Moving BG image," see the readme for that one. Still BG image is the songs background image.

you'd have to script the song, it would look something like this:
(taken straight out of a foon mix song

#BGCHANGES:16.000=in_00.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,24.000=in_01.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,30.000=movie_01.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,31.000=ask.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,32.000=in_02.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,62.500=ask.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,64.000=comp_00.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,72.000=movie_00.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,74.000=movie_01.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,76.000=movie_02.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,78.000=movie_03.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,80.000=comp_00.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,88.000=movie_04.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,90.000=movie_05.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,92.000=movie_06.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,94.000=movie_08.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,96.000=comp_01.avi=1.000=0=0=1
,97.500=comp_00.avi=1.000=0=0=1
---
yes, and i'm not too good at bgs, but there is a BG change option in the edit steps menu

Left Shoe wrote:

What about lyrics?

that's in a seperate file that, in your case, would be named BoRap.lrc, and would contain something that would look like this:
[COLOUR]0xFFFFFF
[0:14.90]Oh yes it's ladies' night
[0:17.20]And the feeling's right
[0:18.90]Oh yes it's ladies' night
[0:21.00]Oh what a night (ooh what a night)
[0:23.00]Oh yes it's ladies' night
[0:25.20]And the feeling's right
[0:26.90]Oh yes it's ladies' night
[0:29.00]Oh what a night

Ok, sweet thanks!!! flash.gif As for the Readme, I've honestly tried
reading it, but I fail to comprehend some of the technologics behind it.
------------------------------------------------------
Why do lyrics sometimes appear during a certain song on a certain
difficulty, but not on other difficulties?
-----------------------------------------------------
Why do some of my songs not keep high schores like the rest do?
-----------------------------------------------------
Is there anybody willing to help me with the code writing dealing with
lyrics and/or timing of BGanimations/movies ?
-----------------------------------------------------
I'm pretty sure there is a way to turn off "Long song" indicator, the one
that I mentioned earlier. I mean, no offense, kamron_1, but if there
was a way to put that feature into Stepmania, then there probably is a
way to change it, too. Does anyone know how?
-----------------------------------------------------
More to come.
