Is there a way to unlock it faster, a trick, or does it just unlock after XYZ number of songs?

Unlocking anything on ITG2 is no more different than it was on the original ITG: wait for the code to be released by Roxor.

And just because Roxor releases the code doesn't mean it'll unlock every aspect of it. How many want to bet it'll only unlock up to the Hard steps with a first code? E10.gif

You could do this if you're desperate:

All you need is someone to play on the P1 side so you don't fail on the P2 side.

if you're anxious to play vertex^2, keep track of the code patterns you've attempted whether or not they worked. i was thinking about making a thread for it, but ill just wait a month (or two (or three...)) for them to throw a riddle.

Not exactly. They're actually 8th notes at 370 BPM (I think?), sped up and shifted by 1/64th. Not to say that that's easy to do, either...

Anyone have a link to its stepchart? I had it, but it was to some obscure site that I don't remember anymore (tried ITGfreak).

We have to wait for the code that unlocks the song. Until then, the only way to play it is to reach the last song on the Nightmare marathon.

it has already been said that it unlocks by inputting a code which will be released by roxor in the future. this is how all songs and stepcharts have been unlocked in ITG arcade versions.

would you agree that songs like these defeat the purpose of playing DDR/ITG, which is to have fun?

I love a good challenge, but the hardest ITG songs are just outrageous

I believe that depends on your view of what the purpose of DDR/ITG is. I believe the purpose is to push yourself to your own limits and see what you are capable of. After I passed pandemonium I felt like I had finally defeated the "purpose" of ITG. I did what I thought was impossible for me. Of course, now that limit is getting pushed even further, and I look forward to pushing myself to pass Vertex^2.

Actually I got an Ignition 2.0 for Christmas last year, in hopes that I could get an adapter so that I could hook it up and play...but it was part of that bad batch where the wiring was fucked up -- all arrows respond, and very well at that, however, the down arrow does not work if you are holding either the left or right arrows. So more than half the time the down arrow doesn't work, and I gave up on playing at home overall, especially after I had just gotten a $100 pad that barfed on me; I wasn't about to go out and buy another one. Besides, I wouldn't be able to stand a soft pad anymore, even a new Ignition. I'd want an Afterburner E4.gif.
