OK I got this pad right, the big version. and I want to use it for my circuitry for my HMDP, because it has the control box for the expansion pack. So i am saying this lil(look down) mini dance pad(finger pad)
I was wondering would i be able to hook that up to the original gamestop dance pad and ignore the expansion slot
Ill Shows you the pics, also how do i find the ground wire...

How would I connect my BIGGER siz Gamestop dance pad if the connectors are so differently different in size. Can I use solder.

Imagine pic 3 as my gamestop dance pad, but with bigger and larger sheet metal thingys and i want to connect it pic 2

u cant use solder directly on the plastic sheets cuz it melts the plastic

u have to take the whole board and redo it i think.. E2.gif

Well, after tearing apart my bigger size pad, I can pretty much say that the larger, center stripe on the circuit board is the ground. For everything else, either tear the thing apart and see what goes where or just take a piece of wire, connect one end to the ground, and see what everything else does by connecting the loose end to other parts.

Well, if you want to check what button does what without tearing apart the rest of the pad, plug the controller into a PS2 (or whatever it hooks up to), stick an end of a wire to the ground (so it gets constant power) and put the other end to the different contacts. By doing that, you should be able to find out what goes to where (especially if you have a game that has distinct things for each button...fighting games, perhaps?)

But if you have a small finger pad, you probably could just tear it apart and follow the contacts. It's a lot less mess than with a bigger one.
