I modded a Madcatz Beatpad a while back, basically just taped it to plywood and covered it with a nice Foam pad. It works fantastic. I'm going to build another one infact, so i can play Doubles.

But I can't seem to think of a good way to put Arrows on the pads. I could probably come up with something but thought maybe someone here could give me a good idea. I don't really need arrows on the pads, but i'm not used to playing doubles and think it'd be helpful to see the arrows out of the corners of my eyes. Plus someone i know is going to try and start playing and it could be hard for them if there are no arrows on the pad.

Here's what it looks like: http://adaman.homestead.com/files/Room/padpic1.jpg - More pics in the Madcatz Beatpad thread (see pg. 3).

I could just print out some nice looking arrows and tape them to foam (which is what i'm leaning toward now), but i don't think that would look too good, or last too long, like maybe the paper would get all wrinkly. Maybe that wouldn't be the case though, guess i'll find out if i try it.

Anyhow, I'm just seeing if anyone have any ideas. There seems to be a lot of creative people around here. If not I'll figure out something and perhaps post the results somewhere later.

Hmmm...well, since attachments probably won't stick to the pad too well (given they'll be torn off or in half by feet in minutes), how about drawing on the pad with a Silver Sharpie? Just trace where each panel ends. If that doesn't work, perhaps White-Out or Puffy Paint. I bet plumber's tape will work too...

Of course, you could always go the other direction and get accessories to match...

Yeah i could try and trace something on there i suppose. Maybe i'll try and tape the arrow graphics on there first though, the tape is "super strength" so maybe if i tape it on there tight enough the paper won't bend/crease/wrinkle, and the tape won't come off. Still seems like it would though. Though if it doesn't work i can still try and trace something on there. I might just go straight to drawing on the pad though...Thanks for the idea.
