Creating Songs

Can someone tell me how to create my own songs with SM. I have the Music File and i've made the banners but how do i make the game read it and how do i make a .dwi

Well I use Xstep to get the BPM and to convert my MP# to dwi format. I save both files it makes to my desktop. Put them in a floder named of the Artist.Then Copy , Past the MP3 to the folder as well. You should now have 3 files in the folder you made.
Now you go into Stepmania, Songs, and make a folder named....Madefiles. Or whatever you want it named. Then you take the folder from you desktop with the 3 files in it. Copy, Paste it into your new Madefiles folder in Stepmania.....Now thats done.....
Now you can open up Stepmania. Go to Edit/Sync songs. You can find your new folder at the top by scrolling untill you see it. Then you can go inside it and start making steps. If you push the ESC button you will see lots of information...Same with Enter button. From here you will just have to do some trial and error like I did. I just learned over the last 3 days how to do this. Good luck and I hope this helps some..........
