Cracked CF

After two years of going from place to place and savage abuse from 10 foot songs, my Cobalt Flux finally stopped working today. I narrowed it down to be a problem with my control box.

But my problem ISN'T the control box (I can fix that up myself). My REAL problem is my Cobalt Flux has cracked down the middle, from the top of the UP arrow to the bottom of the DOWN arrow, the wood is just about severed in two. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to fix it.

My first thought was to attach a thick wooden board to the bottom of the pad to reinforce it. However, I'm not sure if that would be strong enough. However, doing this would add some much needed mass to the pad.

If anyone has any other suggestions or advice, I'd appreciate it.
