wouldn't it be cool to play ddr in high school (or middle) for p.e credits? then you compete with others schools. i'd do it. have like light, standard, heavy captians too! (sry beginners theres no captian lol)
if you guys like it then expand on this idea or talk more about it _________________

Great observation. Only the caveat here is that it's been done thousands of times. WHERE ELSE MIGHT YOU WANT DUH DIE ESS?!
Closets? Faucets? Bathroom? Bed? Ceiling? Pool? Outside? In the air?
No, really, how many frigging threads do we need saying "Wouldn't it be cool to play arrow stomp in x-location and then have the thread with posts basically repeating the same thing over and over and over and over with material that would strike your imagination for like, a second.
These threads are like the stuff 4-year olds imagine. This crap is dead horse. |

Yeah.... and then DDR would be an actual sport. Heck, someone could start a professional DDR league. That'd be like, so awesome. |

I think I read somewhere (Wikipedia, maybe?) that DDR is actually a national sport in Norway. I could be mistaken, though.
And actually...I'm going to do my best this year to get my gym teacher to let us play DDR for a few days ^^ Wish me luck! Or just flame me. Chances are you'll just flame me. But oh well. _________________

Is DDR really popular enough in Norway to be a sport? It could be something like that in the US if it was taken seriously by anyone but players, and half the population didn't laugh at it.
Oh, and good luck with that. I don't think I'd even say anything about DDR at school to anyone.
EDIT: ...I don't think the IMG code works >< _________________

A number of schools are already doing this. Go here and search on the word "school". |
Wow, I didn't even know that site existed. However, I do not think the front page should only be accessible to registered users.
As for DDR in school, it's an idea that I've heard of being implimented elsewhere. I've also demonstrated the game to a few administrators myself in line for a P.E. class event. _________________

We dont play for P.E credits (sadly), but we have a video gamers club with many active DDR players. We mostly play after school, but nxt year, we were thinkin of organizing a tournament during the lunch periods. But i think DDR for P.E credit is a great idea |

In the lovely city of ann arbor, the high schools encourage young growing minds to take what the call "community resource" classes where we go out into the community and learn whatever the hell we want to. So my pal and I decided to start up a DDR community resource class. However they would only allow it if we could find an expert in the feild of Dance Dance revolution that was over 18 and had a relitively clean record and WOULD DO IT FOR FREE. Also because this would count for Physical Fitness, this hypothetical person must know about physical fitness in general.
such a person does not exist (especially the free part) |

Here is a site by Red Octane that incorporates ITG in schools as part of a fitness program. You can read up on it there _________________

You guys think it's impossible, but people also play curling and toss cabers for sport.
So nothing's impossible. |

If enough people in my school liked DDR, we'd prolly do it. Would be cool, but just not enough fans in my school. _________________

You'd be surprised I think. When I did my last demonstration at a school, at least half of the gymnastics team either had it or knew what it was and has played it before. _________________
