Dance Dance Revolution was recently featured on National Public Radio!
"Dance video games are attracting many teens to exercise. The most popular is called "Dance Dance Revolution," and health experts are trying to capitalize on the craze... "
Thanks to Beth Gallaway for the link! _________________

"Hopscotch on speed"?? Boy, when they put it that way, makes me kind of embarrassed to claim I play it.
Also, "a matrix of 9 metal pads"...of course, the report fails to mention that only 4 of those pads actually do anything...
Thanks for bringing it to headlines, I never read DDR Chit-chat...BTW, what are the handles of the 2 ddrfreak-ians interviewed in the report? _________________

Oh Man Konami canNOT be happy about that. "In The Groove" for those tired of DDR.
And when did DDR get a USB port on it? Unless their arcade has ITG and Extreme. |

Brittany Spears' Dance Beat for PS2. Never played it, and the radio report definitely hasn't piqued that curiosity. _________________

I love how they assume that in order for girls to get into this sort of thing they need a dancing game tailored just for them and endorsed by Britney Spears. _________________

Its inside the cabinet, its how the PS memory card slots connect to the system 573. _________________

I haven't lost that much fat since I never really was that obese, but it did help me build my mile times at school, which reflected on my grade, so that helped. Thank you NPR!! _________________

I'm not touching her game with a 100-foot pole, or anything else.

Hey everbody... thats me!!!
heh, well it is... i honestly thought she was doing the story for a local radio show... not for something... national!?!
then BBQ IM'd me and was like "YOU WERE ON THE RADIO!" and i honestly never got to hear it on the radio... she said she'd call and let me know.
anyway, yeah i think it was a BIG MISTAKE bringing ITG into her story because that "Computer memory chip" = my USB drive and it was such a quick jump from DDR -> ITG that she kind of mixed it all up... my other friend josh, yeah he's a 10th grader... not 12th and I do ACCEL in school sports... even if josh doesn't, i just hate the jocks that play them. Anyway, I also mentioned PIU which is my guess as to why she said the "9 metal thing" because i tried explaining the difference between DDR/PIU using a tic-tac-toe board kind of example but i guess it got her more confused... still weird hearing my voice on the radio.
Trying to P.A. Dam darriam while talking on a microphone the entire time... now thats hard!!! (still got 32 greats lol)
this was done at adventure park USA in frederick, MD... check the thread in mid-atlantic forum if your interested in coming (ITG2 dedicated cab, and DDR extreme pads are GREAT on both) _________________

Being a huge NPR fan, i have to nitpick and say the DDR was featured on NPR once before, when ATC (all things considered) went to an anime con. They had a segment on DDR along with all the other otaku-ness. |
