key mapping

is there any way to make stepmania not automap the key/joy mapping? sometimes i like to play with pads, sometimes with controller, sometimes with soft pads, sometimes with metal pad, so i constantly switch between parallel port, usb, and different controllers. it's kinda annoying to have to go change the key mappings everytime i start stepmania. is there any way to prevent stepmania from automaping everything?

There's an "automap" option in the configuration that causes Stepmania to remap automatically when your controllers change. Just find it in the menu & turn it off. I don't remember which submenu it's under but you should be able to locate it. (Probably under controller/input options or something like that.)
