I heard our local arcade got an ITG2 machine.. first I was skeptical but I had to check it out since the nearest DDR machine was 30 miles away. I went down and needless to say I played for 3 hours straight on an expensive machine ($1 for 2 songs). I was used to paying out of my buttocks like this though since the DDR machine 30 miles away is owned by the same guy (this one guy has a monopoly on like all arcade / bar games in a 40 mile or so radius) and cost the same, but since the songs are a little longer you get more for your money slightly.
But besides that, I think ITG is more fun than DDR. ITG's lame techno is better than DDR's lame techno. I've been playing DDR for about a year and I've played everything, yet I was wowed by some of ITG's more complex step styles. The stage itself seemed easier to move, more responsive and overall less "clunky" than the DDR stage. The whole theme of the machine was more polished and glossier than DDR from the asthetics to the sound.
I'm a loser and have to turn off hands and mines though. I picked a 7 difficulty song to warm up on and failed it because of all the hands. I felt retarded when I attempted them. I might pick up the home version to practice these and mines, I like the added difficulty but it's a waste of money at the moment to play with these options on since I'm just not used to them.
So far my favorite songs are Dawn and Euphoria on hard. But all the songs I played (except the ones with excessive hands and mines, heh!) were excellent. This is a perfect dance game. Thanks Roxor Games!
Disclaimer: I removed a "racial slur", that people refer to below. I apologize but never thought twice about it because I have Jewish friends and we joke around and stuff like that and no one takes offense. I apologize if I offended anyone, it wasn't my intention!

What do you mean converted?
You can like DDR and ITG at the same time...
IMO, DDR is better... but thats me..
It's nice to know that not everyone is hating on ITG, its a good game in it's own way, and ITG2 made it way better. _________________

By converted I mean I was a big DDR fan and now I think ITG2 is the best. _________________

I like them both. But DDR is just getting old. And when ITG1 was getting old I got slapped across the face with ITG2 just yesterday (and just in the nick of time) have to say that it's tight as hell and there's plenty fr me to do on that one. Except yesterday I beat all the 12's and Summer on Expert so now, all I have to play is the rest..... _________________

Stop playing it.
$1 for 2 songs is a HUMONGOUS rip-off. |

The closest dance machines around are:
3 miles: $1 for 2 songs [DDR]
30 miles: $1 for 2 songs [ITG2]
So I have no other options. And now I'm saving on gas. _________________

The initial post of this thread would have been much better without the unnecessary and extremely nasty racial slur. |

Dude...it was like...a joke, I'm sure. Unnecessary I suppose, but "extremely nasty racial slur"? That's total exagerration, man.

I'd say I'm converted. I rarely enjoy DDR the few times I play it anymore, but drive an hour and a half to play ITG2 once a week. Like Alezay said, DDR is getting old. The closest DDR machine is 5 minutes away, too . |

Its not really an exagerration to someone who is Jewish. I, personally, was offended. Although I'm sure he was joking, its just not all that funny to someone who has Jewish family or heritage.
Racial slurs set aside....
ITG is very awesome. I live 60 miles away from an ITG machine, and who knows how many miles away from ITG2 (though I do drive 60 miles just to go play ITG and PF ). I can't say I'm "converted" cause I still love DDR, but the fact that ITG has more advanced songs on it makes me very happy. I haven't played ITG2, but the day WILL come. I just can't wait until I get enough money to buy it for PS2.

Heh, I have to say that I've just become an ITG nut myself. I'd heard that an arcade in my area (well, sorta, about 20 miles away) got the game months ago, and I meant to go try it, but right after that, I had to put it off for months as I found myself drowning in work from college. This past weekend, I finally made it out there, and I love it. I don't hate DDR now, but ITG just feels so fresh and new compared to DDR. I'm addicted to the steps for Da Roots Hard. So much fun! I saw someone trying Pandemonium Hard there, and while he didn't do so well, he was miles above me. XD Only problem is the machine has been OWNED by Windeu and LilQ. It's disheartening being an ITG n00b and seeing scores of 99.5%-100% all up and down the high score lists. I'd love to play ITG2 as well, but I've got plenty to keep me occupied on ITG1 at the moment. |

ugh.. why did they have to add an ITG section on DDRfreak.
Don't quit playing DDR just because ITG walks through the door... Difficulty isn't the only thing that makes a game fun.
I'm not saying don't play ITG, because I like it too.
I'm saying... you don't really belong on DDRfreak if you don't like DDR.
Besides, you make it sound like a religion o.O _________________

They're not saying they don't like DDR becuase like they said, THEY WERE "CONVERTED". Which means at some point, they were a DDR player. Just like most of us vets have been saying for a while, DDR is still fun, it's just getting old because there's nothing new about it anymore. I like DDR and ITG, but I can have more fun playing ITG2 than playing DDR because ITG2 is new, fresh, and there's plenty for me to do, even if I beat all the 12's and the only currently unlocked 13 already. There's still much to do. + If I don't like a certain chart, I can make an edit that's always accessible that can serve as a substitute. No one is hating on DDR, it's just old now. _________________

I concure with the original post. DDR has gotten kinda stale, and with ITG it feels new again. There is no ITG/ITG2 machine around here anyways, so all i get to play is the home version. _________________

Haven't tried ITG yet, as the only machine I know of I've never been to.
And I don't know about Judaism being a race. Yet the comment was pretty stupid, nonetheless.
