|

This deserves its own thread, as it's pretty big news IMHO.
I have not seen this with my own eyes, but folks on the GameFAQs board are reporting that:
1) The downloadable Edit mode is now available for PIU Exceed Xbox.
2) IT SUPPORTS CUSTOM SOUNDTRACKS.
So basically...you can make Edit steps for any song on your Xbox. And as you may already know, you can get any song on your Xbox that you can put on a CD. And we all know about burning CDs...
It may not be 4-panel, but this is a feature many folks have been wanting for a looooooong time.
EDIT: This was already mentioned a short time ago in the Pump thread. But isn't it important enough to get its own thread? _________________

Not really... unless it makes the steps for you... because I can do that with Pump it Up for PC and Stepmania... heh...
It's not like it makes the steps for you... and it's not like it comes with a background video editor... heh |

I still think it's big news. A lot more people have consoles hooked to their TVs than computers running Stepmania or PIU PC...
...heck, I don't personally know ANYONE who runs either one on their TV. On the other hand, I know a lot of people that have Xboxes. So I'm guessing this will affect some people, at least. _________________

A lot of people have S-Video on their PCs... that means they can plug it into a newer TV... if they don't have a newer tv set they can use an RF Modulator. |

Stepmania >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Me Pissing >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Kick It Up.
If I can't even get Kick it Up to run, what can I say? Software coding isn't up to date?
And BTW, Xbox's don't really rip burned CDs very well. You'll need to buy Xbox Music Mixer to transfer PC MP3s to the Xbox Hard Drive... |

As far as I know, Xboxes won't rip burned disks at all. I'll have to check out an Xbox Music Mixer; the fact that I won't be able to use a lot of my music is all that's holding me back from getting Exceed. |

Some CD-RWs are read by the Xbox. There was a list somewhere, but I'm not sure where it went. _________________

The Thompson is the worst (both in reliability and compatibilty), IIRC. _________________

IIRC, my friend's X-Box ripped a few of my burned CD-Rs just fine. o_O _________________

As Cutriss said, it's dependent on what drive is in your Xbox. Some will read just about anything, others will only read CD-RWs and DVD-Rs (and only certain brands, at that!), etc. _________________

Bah, who needs a PIU XBOX edit mode when you can port Stepmania to an XBOX? Then you can run DDR, ITG, and PIU with your own songs, steps, and graphics. Yes, indeed, play ITG2 at home before it comes out on PS2; a dream come true! But only if I have an XBOX. Darn... |

BECAUSE THIS TOPIC ISN'T ABOUT STEPMANIA ON X-BOX. AND WE MOST CERTAINLY ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT ITG2. _________________

Because
1) Not all of us have modded Xboxes.
2) Not all of us give a flying crap about Stepmania. I don't. It's an imitation. It's a halfway-decent one but it's still an imitation. I played it a few times like three years ago and then lost interest. I'd rather just pay a few bucks and (legally) enjoy the real thing. Home versions look, feel and ARE better. The End.
...so does anyone here know if they've released any downloadable songs over Live yet? _________________
