im doing a school report on the importance of eating right and excercising. im gonna focus alot on ddr (since that how i lost all my weight) im looking for other peoples experiences. i would like you to answer these questions.

1: how much did you weigh before ddr?
2: how much you currently weigh?
3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight?
4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr?
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr?
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
6: how has your stamina and endurance increased?

And any other question that you deem important that i couldnt think of that need to be answered for a thread like this.

EDIT: i know something like this has been done before but i couldnt find it.

2: how much you currently weigh? 220 (I'm not heavy, but muscular)
3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight? Nay.
4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr? Confident.
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr? No difference.
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
6: how has your stamina and endurance increased? Yes. I can now play for 2 hours straight. I finished Endless Mode on Heavy in Max2. I used to only be able to do 10 minutes of Heavy without a break. Now I can do 45 minutes, and I don't want to push that any further.

I would ask how long they've been playing DDR (or how long it took them to use the weight)

I would also ask how many times a week they play and how long they play for each session (1 hour, 2 hour...).

I would also ask if they followed any sort of a food intake diet at the same time as playing DDR.

For what it's worth, I'm trying to loose weight with DDR doing a 1500 calorie diet and 1 hour DDR 5 times a week. However I have not been monitoring my weight long enough to give you any good results. I've only been doing it a week.

I have Ultramix 2... never tried the exercise mode.

Mostly because I love seeing my high scores and grades recorded, and I don't think exercise mode records when you get a high score?

I haven't really tried it though.

2: how much you currently weigh? 270
3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight? not much, still completely unhealthy
4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr? same,
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr? amazed that a game could do that for me, i was always very very outgoing so it didnt really affect anything else, although i was complimented for a more toned core of my body
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
6: how has your stamina and endurance increased: it helped me gain a lot of stamina for bboying(breakdancing) and regular dancing
7: how long did it take you to lose the weight. oh id say about 2-3 months
8: times a week did you play ddr and for how long each time. umm a few times a week for a short session(arcade), now tho i own the xbox versions with pads so i should up it a lot more.

please note i am by no means fat, i am 6'6" so i am very proportionate and somewhat built(i live on a farm so i do farm work), just didnt want everyone to think im a large lazy

(What was the lowest weight I got to while actively playing DDR: 143)

2: how much you currently weigh? 160

3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight? Not by choice. My apetite died, especially for sweets.

4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr? I was depressed for a while before I had started playing, still a bit depressed through most of my active play time.
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)

5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr? My self confidence boosted a lot which lead to more guys looking at me :X.
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)

6: how has your stamina and endurance increased: Last time I went camping with my parents, my dad was the one stopping and needing a rest while I was capable of continuing to hike. I've also noticed an increase in my sense of balance.

7: how long did it take you to lose the weight: About a year of playing and I dropped most of that.

8: times a week did you play ddr and for how long each time: I used to play on a daily basis and for 3-4 hours. I had a period of time while I was out of state and I could only get out once or twice a week, those times I'd play upwards of 8 hours.

9. How long have you been playing: November of 2002

On and Off, I tried to not drink any soda and eat more salads... But I still ate Spahgettie and Burgers from time to time.
4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr?

Oh I was totally less outgoing before DDR, and less confident about my stamina before DDR
5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr?
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc)
I AM much more outgoing after DDR, and more confident after DDR as well.
6: how has your stamina and endurance increased?

Well, Before DDR... I could barely do a mile in 11 minutes.
Now, after playing for so long and getting an A on Max 300 4 times in a row, getting a B on PSMO, I can now do a mile in 8 minutes.
I can jog for 30 minutes straight too.

4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr? I used to get tired faster and lose my breath alot. I've always been confident though.

5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr? Man I love it! None of my cloths fit anymore....but now I need a belt so it's a win loose situation.


6: how has your stamina and endurance increased I can walk longer and I can run. But I'm still lazy so I'll only run if something's on fire

7: how long did it take you to lose the weight. Hmm I think I started playing 1&1/2 years ago. But since I started playing I seem to be loosing like 8-10 pounds a month.

8: times a week did you play ddr and for how long each time. I play at home everyday for like 2 hours before I switch to use hand controller but when I go to the arcade I play for 5 or 6 hours. It all depends on the amount of money I have.

3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight? no, but they have changed on thier own, mostly unconcious choice changes, not geared towards anything.
4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr?
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc) I was tired of being as big as I was, less confident.
5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr?
(less/more outgoing. more/less confident. etc) I feel great, I've gone done 4 inches in pants size and can almost normally shop for clothes. I haven't weighted under 350 in 10 years
6: how has your stamina and endurance increased. most definately
7: how long did it take you to lose the weight. 5 months
8: times a week did you play ddr and for how long each time. usually 3 times a week for an hour and then between 5 and 6 hours on friday and two hours on saturday
9: I would ask how long they've been playing DDR (or how long it took them to use the weight) ive been playing since late nov 2004
11:I would also ask if they followed any sort of a food intake diet at the same time as playing DDR. the few changes I've made were for taste, and I just didn't want to eat the same things anymore. Diet didn't even come into it.

Felt like I was heavy as a brick and just a little athletic.

Pretty good. Not entirely there, but my body's alright and people have commented on weight loss.

I can run a mile without stopping.

i asked everyone for their results but i didnt put mine in. lol. here they are.

1: how much did you weigh before ddr? 170

2: how much you currently weigh? 160 (i grew like 3 inches while i was losing weight so i didnt lose that much weight but i lost alot of fat.)

3: did you change your eating habits to lose weight? kinda. didnt eat sweets and fast food.

4: how did you feel before losing weight on ddr? wasnt very confident in my self. hated going swimming and stuff cause i was afraid to take my shirt off.

5: how do you feel after losing losing weight on ddr? i feel ALOT better about myself. i still dont like taking my shirt off cause i have like 5 feet of loose skin, lol.

6: how long did it take you to lose the weight? a few months.

7: how many times a week did you play ddr and for how long each time? every day for an hour or 2.

8:how has your stamina and endurance increased: i can now run a mile or 2 without stopping.
