I live in a small town without DDR. Nobody knows anything about DDR here unless they come to my house. So I cant see how popular it really is. I dont seem to hear much of anything on tv. How long will the popularity last in your honest opinion?

Really, its fading at the moment, but I'm confident that it will radomly spring back as the coolest fad ever in the future.

"OMG that kid can play DDR! He is so hot!"
Yeah...

Whatever happens, it will always be popular in my mind.

It will remain popular until people either stop playing it or every machine is converted to ITG.

Hasn't this been posted before?

The genre will always be popular as long as some people keep playing.

DDR has been dead to near-nonexistence in japan since 2002, just so you know.

Are you kidding? It sold 1.2 million units last year, and it's pretty much the new excercise trend.

USA is so far behind in things that by the time things get popular here, they are nonexistant in other countries......I will continue to play DDR and not only that I have got Stepmania and about 2000 files for it. So I will be busy for a while....hehhehe

I'm almost certain that DDR will come back again. After all the ITG machines come out, people will eventually miss and want DDR back.

As long as some kid is still playing it in his house, or there is an machine out there, it will NEVAR die.

DDR will always live in my basement. ITG will never be played there because I don't have the system or the liking for it.

I honestly don't care for playing in the arcade anymore, the whole getting sick from it is a major reason for me just playing it at home every so often.

I guess if you live in a smaller community then DDR will be around for a little bit. For example kids at my school are just now getting addicted to DDR, while I've been playing DDR for a year and a half. I did Dropout at a dance recital thing, and the audience was just stunned.

There's always young kids playing DDR at the arcade I go to play. There are there everyday right after school so DDR ain't dying for a while.

DDR's still cool, and think its popularity will depend on whether they come out with a new arcade mix or not.

for now, ITG is fine with me... itll be a long while before it loses its popularity.
