The Dance Dance Revolution Student Organization is planning the Third Annual 24 Hour DDR-a-thon for Charity, to be held on April 22nd through the 23rd at Ferris State University. This year, all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The 24 Hour DDR-a-thon for Charity has been a major event in the past, raising over $500 in 2003 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Foundation, and nearly $500 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. All overhead costs are covered by members and donations from the public; 100% of donations are forwarded to the appropriate charity. Our goal for this year is to raise over $1,000 in donations.

For more information, check out our website at:

http://members.thegeekgroup.org/~ninjagamer/ddr

You may also email us at [email protected], or call the Co-President, Matthew Kuspa, at 231-591-0488.

The webpage is under construction and needs some heavy updating, but should be finished by today or tomorrow. Check it out anyway.

Mods, could you please post this to the front page? Thanks!

Unless we live in the immediate area of Ferris State University, there's not much we can do, bub.

Where exactly would this be? I would love to help out and participate. I always do whatever I can when breast cancer charities are involved

This would be in Big Rapids, MI, which is about 1 hour north of Grand Rapids. I have been involved in the past, and it's always a really good event. If you happen to be in the area, you should go there and check it out, especially in the wee hours of the morning when people are having trouble moving.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it up there this year, but if not, I'll paypal a donation to you. Good luck with the event, and tell everyone hello.

We have a paypal link available on our website for donations, if you're interested in collecting donations and sending them in to help us out. We'd all really appreciate it.

The actual event will be held on the Campus Quad at Ferris State University. It'll be pretty hard to miss, we'll be the only people up all night out there. biggrin.gif

See, that's the beauty of paypal. Sure, getting there and participating might be a bit difficult, but you could paypal a donation to them.

Speaking of which, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to come up for it, so I paypal'd you a donation.

Not in the conventional sense but I think medically males technically do. But in all seriousness, I het involved with them because breast cancer claimed my grandmother at age 48, before I was ever born and it runs heavilly in my familly. My mother just got through a scare with it recently although it turned out to not be cancer.

That and there's something in the water cause Long Island has insane breast cancer rates.

Go ahead. I think it's a great idea. The more people that do it, the better! Our event is currently underway. We've moved inside due to weather, but we still expect a great turnout. More details later.

Thanks for the donation, Al.

I would go if I lived nearby. You guys should definitely think about expanding the locations.

We wrapped up our event earlier today, going all 24 Hours and raising over $500 for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

Thanks to everyone who donated and contributed!

I'll post some pictures later.
