Why is this almost nonexistant? I see itg.ddrfreak.com, but no piu.ddrfreak.com

No shit. >=P
I was asking why not follow up on that and just get PIU in the mix as well, cause they do have the URL for it. _________________

PIU has been around for a pretty long time, and I don't really see it increasing in popularity or distribution. What's the point of covering it? _________________

Actually, it is. I know the Pump community isn't as aligned to DDR's as ITG is, but the game is growing in popularity, slowly but surely.
Exceed 2 upgrades/machines are spreading more prolifically than any mix I've seen yet, and the console version(s) are also amassing quite a gathering too.
I think the US PS2/XB versions are just going to make the game even more noticed than before, on top of that.
Anyway, it might not be as big in this site's interest to cover PIU as it is ITG, but far as the stepping community goes, I'd say the interest is definetly there.
And as you said, it has been around a long time: the series has quite a following who've stayed with the game since its inception, and we'd no doubt appreciate seeing it get coverage on a broader scale. _________________

Does PIU currently have an equivalent to DDR Freak in terms of community awareness?
I know about PumpXtreme.net, but it seems kinda quiet to me. _________________

There's a few more than just PX(but it is the primary)..
Bemanistyle has a steady community(small, but it's there).. as does PumpHaven, though it's primarily carry overs from PX.. there's also about half a dozen foreign Pump forums like MPM and The Realm, but they probably don't count(though they are responsible for like 90% of all media acquisition in the communities).
PX isn't so much quiet as it is the repeated attentions of the same continued 50-odd people. It's a small community in the broad sense, but everyone who posts there is devoted to it.. since nearly all of us have been with the site since the Premiere/PREX days.
In my experience, the interest in the game is there, just the whole of the gaming population aren't as open about it.
I'm hoping that might change in the future, though. _________________

yeh i play pump i think a site as large as this would be great for some pump support it would help the pump community get together
and like cj iwakura said pump is pretty big from what i hear pump is pretty big in especially in the south american countries but for some odd reason the united states is the only place were it seems to be the other way around |

It doesn't, if NVLM's to be believed. Not really surprising, considering that Korea and Japan don't exactly get along in the arcade sense. It's mostly a you do your thing/we'll do ours kind of situation.
There's an utterly disgusting amount of the machines in Mexico.. supposedly something to the effect of 15,000.
I didn't think the country could even hold that many. _________________
