I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed this, but there is something which seems different (on the screen) in real arcade version of DDR compared to Stepmania. (I'm not talking about skins/themes). I can't quite put my finger on it. Any ideas people?

I don't think its that. I have the background videos for some of the songs and it stills feels odd, even with the correct vids.

On a site that condones piracy i.e not this one.

There are a lot of differenced between SM and DDR. They were never meant to be the same. SM is a simulator, not an emulator.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

I've noticed that the arrows seem to take up more space on the screen

That could be it, I havn't really noticed it but ill have a check next time I go to the arcade. It does seem to be something to do with the arrows now that you have mentioned it.

doesnt necessarily have to be on the screen. could be the enviroment. like at home its probly just you and maybe a few friends. but at the arcade its more likely you, some friends and the idiots gaping outside the window...

I think it is in the graphics, because at home you can set the graphics to meet your fancy, but in the arcade the screen is larger than most computer screens and if you haven't noticed the colors seem a little diffrent I think the arcade has better colors but thats just me most likely

For me, the way songs sound might play a role in that. Not many sim setups will have a bangin' sound system like a real DDR machine, after all. E13.gif Like, the bass may not be as boosted (which takes away the one remotely tolerable part of Secret Rendez-vous, IMO) on your average computer speakers, for example.
