Eh..... i was scanning through all the ddr games for the console in America. I see none of them have Butterfly. I love this song and ive been waiting for at least one ddr game to come out with it. Does anyone know why its in the arcade in america and not on console?

It's actually in the arcades in Japan. They just get shipped to the US.

And Butterfly (along with many other arcade songs) have licenses on them, allowing only the arcade and the Japanese console counterparts to allow them. It's just a licensing issue.

If you really want to get it at home you could mod your PS2 (asuming you have one) and get...umm, I think festival, it might be party though...sorry I don't know.

The reason most (if not all, I can't exactly remember right now) home mixes don't have Butterfly is because Konami and smile.dk had a slight falling out, so smile.dk wouldn't license it out.

1. DDR US for the PS1 has Butterfly data: banner, background, steps, music, etc. It's just disabled. The game cannot see it and you cannot use a cheating device to activate it. You need to hack the disc.

2. Konami can choose to license Smile.dk anytime they want to, right now even. It appears that there was a change in the record label of some sort some time ago around EXTREME AC. But the lack of Butterfly or ANY Smile.dk songs can be racked up to Konami's fault, not the label.

It's Party Collection that has Butterfly on it.

'Butterfly american disk' = nothing
'Butterfly american hack' = nothing

Just post the link...I know it's probably false, but I'd like to give it a shot anyways.

Why would someone want to play Butterfly? There are better songs that beginners can play to.

It's on some Japanese home versions, like Best Hits and I think 4th mix?

I've never played it, but I've wanted to just to see why it's apparently so lame (secretly, I'm afraid to try it in public in fear of losing respect). As long as it's not on any US mixes, they might as well stick it on one and then never have to bother again.

The song is well over seven years old now. I don't see why everyone still goes apeshit over it.

Well, we had a 3rd Mix revival in UM2, so why not have Hyper K Mix in there and also add the KCP Kung-Fu Remix as an unlock?

It'll be less whored out due to the fact that it's faster, and that's just increasing the difficulty by itself.
