I've been playing a lot of the newer DDRs (Max, Extreme) on my PS2. But recently I went back to the first DDR, but I noticed that the arrows are just a hair off and they jerk along the screen. The newer DDRs play just fine. I didn't have this problem before when playing them in the PS2 last year. I don't know if it's because they were originally made for the PS1, but it's annoying. Some of my favorite songs are only on the DDR1 and Konamix and they are virtually unplayable.
Does anyone know what's up? |

that is because they didn't know how to sync well, go into options, sound, and timing
adjust accordingly

back ON topic
we had to set the time +6 because off all the extra stuff it does
try that, see if it helps _________________

The arrows scroll smoother in Playstation 2 versions. The oldest version of DDR scrolls at 30 frames per second, and the PS2 games are 60 frames per second. It's the same with the arcade versions of the game, as well, especially since most of the home games are based off of arcade engines. It's basically like watching a cartoon vs. flipping a flipbook. |

Wait... was that sarcasm? I'm a sped.
And I hope I don't encounter this problem with my new DDR USA. 58 bucks... *mumbles to himself like a sped* _________________

afaik very early mixes actually ran at 15-20fps. The first mix to run at 60fps was 5thmix, most before that ran 30fps, and afaik mixes based on the 1stmix engine ran at 15. _________________

DDR USA was based on the 3rd Mix engine, so it ran at 30 FPS. Konamix was the 4th Mix engine with a modified 5th Mix logo.
From what I know, 5th Mix actually didn't run at 60FPS, it ran somewhat close (45-50), but not at the full 60 that DDRMAX ran at.
All the US PS1 mixes have a terrible framerate and it looks pretty bad. But they're based on older hardware. _________________
