From most people's speculation, it's based off a Solo pad and is very, very durable, and is definitely the most arcade-like experience you can have without having an arcade machine.

i have a relative in yokosuka that has one of these! he said they were selling around 1500 in japan when they came out.. but they dont make them anymore.. imma see if he'll sell it to me.

i know a place that sells the arcade solo pads.. and u can set it up to work with ps2 also! but they're on backorder...

and cost $360 a piece.. but shipping will be a pain because the supplier is overseas...shucks

two people to move it? i can barely move my cobalflux. i guess that pad is good for people with a nice garage or arcade room, but for Joe Schmoe, it's not very practical...

I just think that they weren't willing to have left over inventory that couldn't be sold. Why take the risk when these products are high value?

Uh, no. You don't get the point. AC machines and ASCs cost a lot of money. Therefore, they don't want to be stuck with a lot of inventory left over if they can't sell them. This is why Konami will only sell as much as there are preorders, as they know at least they'll sell that much.
