OK, I have I couple questions. I realize this could go in BC&H, but I have a second part to the question.
Now, I recently acquired 6 metal pads for my school: 4 TX-2000s for Ultramix 2 Quad Mode and two TX-1000s for DDR Extreme. Now, through one day of playing with our new 2000s, one of the circular brackets (SP?) already broke off. Now, as brand new pads, I was pretty pissed. I fixed it, but it was still a brand new pad.
People are abusing this gift of having DDR at our school. My question is: how do you think I can safely keep our pads in good working condition as well as halting the kids from damaging them further? Do you think I should put a boundary around the pads?
Hopefully you can help me through this predicament. Mods, if you feel this should go elsewhere, feel free to lock. _________________

You are royally screwed.
Ugh...TX-x000s are made shoddily. MAKE IT MANDATORY TO USE ANY LIGHT SHOES POSSIBLE. The TX's will break within MINUTES, literally if you don't use any light shoes.
You could use some shoes you'd go into the beach with (into the water as well). Their bottom area is a pretty even rubber surface if you have extremely small indents.
And stepping lightly will help. I'm serious: any forced stepping and you can kiss all 6 pads goodbye in a few minutes. |

At my middle school we rip a lot of these 1" thick pads with lifted arrow zones. They work well, but you gotta take off your shoes. I was playing on 'em today, and in 4 weeks, we went from 8 pads to 2. Hoo rah. But they still work well for a lot of day-long play from kidz. _________________

My vice principal called me into his office and asked if we could purchase this. He said it would be a good gym activity, and I got our HSO to approve of it. _________________

I think you should of just bought a machine, like a 3rd Mix (then convert it to Extreme or ITG if you want to save money) Because it will last waaaaaaaaaaaaay longer then almost any 3rd party things. I mean kids will be playing it at your 10th year High School reunion if they mantain it right... _________________

We tried that, but our budget didn't allow it. Maybe if we hold a fundraiser we might be able to. _________________

A fund raiser would be a good idea.
Also, maybe a teacher could watch over it when that teacher is having a planning time or such. _________________

My school is almost as sad...I'm the second best in a school of about 850 people and I can only do a 7 step on Heavy... _________________

I think if someone watches over the pads it would be good. Also everyday after people are done playing check the pads and clean them etc.If you really want pads that last a long time and you could get some more money again get some CF's.They are supose to be much better and last much much much longer. |

My schoolâs around 300-400 kids. Iâm pretty good, probably the best in my freshman class and I can only do 7s and a handful of 8s. However, I know a few sophomores and juniors that play that can do 10s.
To go back on-topic, a fundraiser is the best way to go to get a machine, which can much more of a beating than pads you can buy online. _________________
