I recently purchased a copy of Ultramix 2 for Xbox and 2 Xbox Deluxe Ignition Pads (v.3). We tried out the game for the first time today and everything was great for about an hour and then the back stomp pad on both mats completely stopped working. We could get them to sometimes change options on the menu but when it came to playing the game, the back pad was completely dead on both pads. Has anyone had any similar experiences? Any solutions?

[For more info on the pads I purchased, here is a link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8165287830&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAB:CA:6 ]

Thanks

This is a known problem with the EBay pads and has been covered before. I have had to fix 4 out of 4 pads so far.

Basically, it occurs because of the internal pad wire for the Back button starts at the plastic control unit and runs right along the center spot of the pad. After a few weeks, the wire develops a small break and causes the Back button to stop working. So the fix is to run a new wire from the top to the bottom along the edge of the pad instead of right down the middle.

Here's what can be done. You will need to run a new wire from the control unit to the back pad. I've done it two ways, one is to open the control unit and carefully lift up the wire connection and place a new thin wire (Phone wire works well) under the taped on wire connector. Once connected, I ran it inside the outside edge of the pad and down to the Back button. Carefully cut open the plastic cover and carefully cut open the area around the plastic back sensor. Attach or tape the wire on the bottom of the back sensor. Tape everything up and you are good to go.

An alternative solution is to carefully cut open the pad right under the Up arrow and attach the wire to the internal wires at that point instead of opening up the control unit
