Is galvonized sheet metal the only route?

Hi, I know a way to get 30 gauge stainless sheet metal cut to the proper dimensions for a pad mod. How would this work compared to having to go out and buy galvonzied.

Ps. Doesn't galvonzied have a zinc coating that will rub off onto the copper section?

as long as it can flex enough while still being held firmly by adhesive under the arrow it should be fine

The coating on galvanized steel will not simply "rub off." It's made to stay there, to protect the metal. Stainless steel will just cost you more.

the thing is that I can get stainless from my school for free. that's all.

Use it. It works just as well, if not better. Heck, get me some while you're at it.

ok, great. Now I can just give my tech teacher the instructions and stay after school. Then, BANG Ill mod my DDR pad. The thing is that he is new and I have earned his respect. He said they have rolls of stainless that are about 30 gauge and we should use that instead of going out and buying more for 6 bux. Supposedly the school rarely uses the metal he was talking about.
