after having the chance to play a 3 song set at one of the demo stations for DJ hero i am ready to give my first impression of it
The buttons have the same loose timing that they do in guitar hero which was expected though the mixer seems to be timed decently tight which was a pleasent surprise
the gameplay on hard mode for the three songs that i had access to were rather easy compairing to some mid to late set medium guitar hero or 3 star L7 IIDX which leaves me wary that it gets hard enough to really have long lasting appeal
due to the setting i wasnt really able to hear the music but what i did hear wasnt terribly unapealing or anything though people who like mashups more than i do may be more able to critique it
the controller however is just horrible the mixer switch is loose and has virtually no tactile feel at all to where it is and the placement of the euphoria button is inconvenent
the turntable in addition to being incredibly loose (perhaps too loose even for the 360 spin they talk about) also wobbles and the buttons on it are too small and ~10 minutes of playing i could feel the beginnings of a blister (and i have been playing IIDX for 4-5 hours a day the past month)
the controller itself feels cheap too the plastic is thin and despite being much larger than a KOC it isnt nearly as heavy which makes me wonder as to its durability
all in all if they release an upgraded controller or lower the price point to 30 dollars (the askign price of 120 is just ludicris i have no idea how this was reached and it certainly is not worth it) pick it up otherwise pass _________________

Doubtless there'll be some bad, popular radio music on this. I didn't have high expectations on this from the trailer/interview thing because it was obviously aimed at the GH parties crowd. |

Opinion time......Dj Hero blows IIDX away!
If you're not a one sided douche you'd agree....
It's made by the few people who care anymore
It's much more open to interpritation
It's actually fun, actually has a learning curve instead of a learning wall.
The bundled controller is of reliable durability, at least the renagade one is.
I destroy the poopy out of both but until I see a keytar hero, it's the best game ever |

I would disagree about IIDX's learning curve - but then again I had been playing guitar for 5 years at that point, so it was easier for me since I had a really good sense of timing, and fingers moderately fast / flexible enough for IIDX. _________________
