I have made a ISO with custom songs, and followed all the steps, and everything works, except for the fact that no songs show up.

The songselector only sais "EMPTY" for all of the songs.

The only problem that came up during making of the ISO was that when checking the Cache box in the .pck maker, the program gave me an error and terminated. I found that it made a cache, so i just put that in there, and then did it without the cache box checked, then it worked.

Help would be very appreciated.

You probably didn't pack them right.

Th Songs/Cache folder needs to be in the ROOT of your C drive. And did you remember to make a new pck.idx file?

I packed it like:

C:\Songs\In The Groove\...
and
C:\Songs\Cache\...

Isn't that right?

Oh, and i made a new pck.idx, but maybe i didn't change them...,
i shall try again as soon as someone confirms that my cache/song stuff is in the right place.

Whenever I try to pack the directory with ITG3 songs in it, it causes an error in the packer and quits D: It doesn't do that when ITG3 songs aren't there though :X

Has anyone ever gotten movie files to play for their custom songs? I tried out putting the movie files in the song folders and referencing them in the .SM file, but once you play those songs in ITG, the game attempts to load them, but can't - leaving you with a totally black background.

I tried both .mpgs and .avi movies but neither worked. Any ideas, or should I give up hope of having background movies?

I followed the very helpful guide posted here, but it didn't work for me after trying twice. I had followed it exactly and it still didn't work. Then I saw that someone had gotten a burned iso to work with a DVD+R, while I was using DVD-Rs. Third time's the charm, and with a DVD+R it finally worked. Just a note, but this is absolutely amazing.

I tried three times with a DVD-R and once with a DVD+R, but when i click load game on swap magic, it spins for a few seconds and says that it is not a ps2 disk

EDIT: I must have made a mistake because i tried again and it worked with a dvd-r

A few songs make the game freeze and some of them sound higher pitched than before

Also, i burned one at 4x like the guide said and it kept freezing before i even got to the main menu, but then i burned one at 6x and it loaded as fast as the original itg disk.

That's because they're probably not 48 kHz like they should be. 44 kHz will still play on ITGPS2, but they'll sound higher pitched. Convert the song files to 48 kHz and they'll sound like they should.

I forgot to make them 48 kHz, but when I did they sounded fine.

1. Does the preview music play on the song wheel?
2. Are you sure you resized your graphics properly?

Songs can work properly in practice mode because (IIRC) no graphics are loaded. This has happened to me a few times on my first ISOs.

Even if the banner graphic is correct, loading a 1900x1200 background image, for example, for the song would crash the game.

It's been about 5 months since the last post I'm hoping if anyone is still viewing this
I read through all the pages and posts on this forum and decided well I guess I'll make an account
and describe the problem I am having. I have followed the proceder of everything. I will list the things
I have done. I installed ISO Buster and I got a copy ISO of ITG (tested on HDD and DVD, it works) since my legit ITG disk was destroyed

by mans best friend and I have extracted it in a new folder on my main hard drive (root of C). I have taken out

all files and deleated ITG songs cept for the DA0AD3EA.PCK. Than I installed PCK Suite, gathered my

song files and such. (Files: sm, bg, banner, song ogg file) resized, changed ogg frequncy, all works fine.

but heres one of the things. PCK Suite is very picky. I can pack them without cache. I end up getting

an error and it says it has to shut down when checked to cache. Here was the turn. I am using XP, I

turned to my windows 98. I took a flash drive installed PCK Suite and the C+ file for it to run. I can pack it being cached

but I noticed all the file names were uppercase (SONG.OGG, BANNER.PNG, BG.PNG, SONG.OGG). I renamed them into lowercase

than when I try with cache it crashes again. Went back to my XP and tried it with all uppercase with cache. It worked.

So I thought this was going to work. I opened up the CDDVDGEN 1.20 and added the following

names and SLUS. I packed them the right way the guide said in order and I also had to use a dummy file

in the end. I used geni's (or whatever) ISO rebuilder and rebuilt the ISO. I have transfered it

to my HDD for my PS2 than popped it back in the PS2 and give it a try. Songs, banner, background

all work except for the stepcharts. No arrows. Blank. I went to another site doing some research and

someone said that if the sm is cappitalized as SM, it wont read the chart. Somethings up

and I wanna get this running. The total amount of songs I have put in for testing was 5.

Please help with my problem. If someone could pack one of thier songs than link it for
me to test it on, I'd like that. But if someone has the answer, that would be most best.

-Ren

Edit: Nvm got it working now. I found out some reason it didn't like the steps. There were no rolls or other things but it's fixed now. false alarm =P

@tiwo: boxorroxors.net, Tools, Hacking ITGPS2 Tools and Tutorial.

Also, I'm having an annoying problem. Everything in the hacking process goes fine until I try to export the IML file in the CD/DVD Generator. When I export the IML, the file size is only 4.55 KB. Then, when I use Genie's IML to ISO converter, the ISO is only 842 KB. Why is this happening? I went back and started from the beginning of the tutorial again, and I got the same result at this point. I am placing the files in the proper order as stated in the guide.

There are no problems with the songs; they all have properly-sized graphics, 48KHz OGGs, and no videos.

I followed the steps in the tutorial EXACTLY (using the tutorial that came with the hacking tools). I did everything on my Windows 7 64-bit PC up until the IML exporting, and had no errors or problems. I have to do the DVD generating on my Windows XP PC since the CD/DVD generator will not run on Windows 7.

I did install the patch that came with the CD/DVD Generator, same result.

I'm out of ideas. Does anyone still read this thread? I hope so.
